Hey all,
Picked up Lightyear Frontier on launch and am a few hours in and really enjoying it thus far.
My question: Does the early access version of the game have a proper ending, or does it just drop off at some point with the story beats because the game is still technically unfinished?

Unless I'm missing something, it's the latter. I'm at a point where I have no more main missions to complete.
There's no ending or built-in indication of when you're done. You can max out the mech tree and play around with your farm layout, but once you've cleared the central door area there's not much reason to continue. I hope the final release does more with the abandoned sites. You'd expect there to be some light puzzling and exposition related to them, but they're just collectathons to unlock cosmetics. It's all fun while it lasts but probably best to wait until it's finished for anyone that wants the best experience.
Yeah it’s really weird that your reward for each is some furniture that you can’t use. I have no idea why small objects like that exist in this game as you can barely do anything outside of your mech and can’t go into your house.
Also it’s really weird just how many doors are in the vault. I know it’s a work in progress but completing the content left me with a “that’s it?” feeling.

There is some purpose that you get out of it that acts as lore in the database.
Yeah I read that yesterday, I had no idea that was even a thing. If there’s a pop-up pointing players to it I completely missed it but if there isn’t they should add one.

I’ve pretty much reached the end of the preview. There isn’t much you can do once you’ve maxed all mech mods. I did notice inside the alien structure where you get the water walking ability if you look down you can see another door under the water so I imagine that’s where they’ll continue the main mission when the game is finished. The game was ok. I hope they add more planets to explore.
I also noticed in the large habitat room in the alien structure, all the small rooms on the walls have an orange light above them. All but one room, which has a green light above it.
Which is likely the'person' that PIP-3R was talking about, the one who requested the coordinates for the other facility, that i presume we go to next. Guess we will find out more in the next update.
