SYRACUSE, N.Y. (WSYR-TV) — Broadway classics mix with some of pop music’s biggest names for the new season of Famous Artists’ “Broadway in Syracuse” series.

Announced on Tuesday, April 23, the new Broadway in Syracuse season at the Landmark Theatre is a collection of greatest hits, featuring three of famous artists’ all-time favorites, plus shows built around two hall-of-fame divas.

They’ll get started Oct. 22 through Oct. 27 with the return of Cameron Macintosh’s legendary “Les Miserables.”

For the family, Disney’s groundbreaking production of “The Lion King” starts Dec. 4 and runs through Dec. 15.

After the holidays, big wheels keep on turning with “Tina: The Tina Turner Musical,” Jan. 28, 2025, to Feb. 1, 2025.

Then, in March 2025, the ABBA blockbuster “Mamma Mia” headlines from March 11 through March 16.

They’ll celebrate one of the newest additions to the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame from April 8 through April 12 with “The Cher Show.”

The season will come to a close with the musical stage adaptation of the comedy “Beetlejuice.”

“I don’t think enough people pay attention to what the arts do for our communities. Look, I’m a big sports fan, concert fan you know. That’s one night, fifty-sixty thousand people. We bring three thousand, 25-hundred people fifty nights out of the year,” said Albert Nocciolino, president of the Famous Artists “Broadway in Syracuse” series.

When you consider the economic impact, Noccolino estimates this new season could bring as much as $15 million into the community.

Famous Artists’ current season still has one more show on tap, the musical “Six” opens May 28 for eight performances at the Landmark.
