Luis Pablo B enjoyable, love marisol Rated 4.5 out of 5 stars 03/13/24 Full Review Audience Member Over 15 years old and this is still one of my favorite DCOMs This is how to do a sequel proper Chanel, Galleria, Aqua, and Dorinda are back as the popular music group The girls are about to head off to college but they want to enjoy one more summer together They get wind of a singing competition in Barcelona, Spain where they can make it big Next thing they are on a plane about to experience one of the most beautiful cities in the world A music manager strives to help them be a sensation being the mother of pop star Marisol Yet they face even tougher challenges and are in danger of being pulled apart I didn't know it was based on a series of books Still amazed Kenny Ortega did this and 'High School Musical' the same year This was absolutely 10x better than the first movie, better songs, the setting in Barcelona was incredible writing, and each of the girls had their own stuff going on They actually do sit down and talk about what's happening with them instead of songs popping up every 5 min What an amazing ending too! It's a shame Raven-Simone left the group when movie 3 came around and Adrienne Bailonne had a feud with Keely Williams on-set but things have thankfully simmered down since then, they're all talking about doing a reunion now The first movie I didn't care for but this one was a massive improvement for sure! Rated 4 out of 5 stars 01/14/23 Full Review Audience Member This film not only highlights the characters, music, and heart but it also builds on what was developed in the first movie. Even though there is a lot to absorb in terms of quality what it lack is strong plot beats. the film seems to just skim through the conflict and doesn't take the time to process the depth of the story. Rated 4 out of 5 stars 02/22/23 Full Review Audience Member I watched the first movie, and I thought a good story was missing, even with good songs. When I saw the sequence, I had doubts but even, so I watched it and saw that it was much better. The story begins when the Cheetah girls arrive in Spain to compete in a music festival where each girl is involved in the Barcelona energy in a different way. I think that for them, just being in a different place did wonders and made a big difference in the focus of the story. It is a very cute movie with a load of good music, a mix of Hip Hop with pop together and beautiful choreography. The cast worked well in their roles. I think you did a good job. This is a great movie for people of all ages and can satisfy most teenagers and children. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 02/15/23 Full Review Audience Member again...people who rated this bad just didn't grow up with the cheetah girls! watching it as an adult just doesn't give the same vibes and nostalgia. Robert Lloyd Los Angeles Times Raven-Symone, who has been in show business since she was 3 or 4, acts with every inch of her face; she is animated like a Disney cartoon. And I don't mean that in a bad way. Sep 12, 2019 Full Review Whitney Pastorek Entertainment Weekly Yes, it's a bit ridiculous watching four calculatedly multiracial girls lip-synch to peppy songs about changing the world. But even a saccharine version of girl power is better than other tween-bait options, like MTV's The Hills. Sep 12, 2019 Full Review Virginia Heffernan New York Times There's no other word for this movie but cute. Sep 12, 2019 Full Review Gretchen McKay Pittsburgh Post-Gazette While the Cheetah Girls' "credo" gives lip service to friendship and support and commitment, they spend an awful lot of time simply wanting to be superstar divas. Sep 12, 2019 Full Review Emily Ashby Common Sense Media A worthy sequel to the original fan favorite. Rated: 4/5 Dec 18, 2010 Full Review David Nusair Reel Film Reviews ...an interminable piece of fluff that holds absolutely no appeal for viewers outside the film's target demographic of teenaged girls (undiscriminating teenaged girls, at that).
