Twisty espionage thriller centered around the titular blonde (Mireille Darc) tattooed by a Chinese collector as part of his property, who stole missile plans and/or a precious emerald before getting drugged and losing her memory. Now the Russians, Chinese, and Americans all want to get their hands on what she stole, if she remembers. Edward G. Robinson inexplicably shows up as the American chief (I'm not complaining), who hires an actor (Claudio Brook) to pretend to be her husband to get her to tell him where the stuff is hidden. But she's playing a much more complicated game than all the espionage organizations imagine. Mostly, it's a lot of mistaken identity, changing allegiances, switcheroos, and wigs. Robinson wants the missile…
Slapdash espionage "thriller," badly dubbed, edited, and written, with generally lousy performances (as much as the dubbing allows to be determined). Edward G. Robinson is squeezed into a few scenes as a CIA spy master, just enough to get some mileage from his name. Most of the story, such as it is, revolves around an actor Robinson hires (Claudio Brook, in a charisma-challenged performance) to safeguard a woman with knowledge of a jewel the CIA apparently needs. The hows and whys go by without much sense or authenticity, and the picture can't decide whether it's a tongue-in-cheek adventure a la the In Like Flint movies, or a serious thriller. It leans precariously toward the former, but without true wit anywhere to be found. At least Mireille Darc and Giorgia Moll are beautiful and sassy as the principal female characters. There's not much else to say for this mess, except that it's got a completely inappropriate Dixieland score.
Watched for Edward G. Robinson, wasn't worth it.
Sometimes it hurts to be fan of an actor and you're a completist.
Mireille Darc is an amnesiac blonde rescued from China and responsible for stealing a gem called 'The Blue Grape' - or is she? Despite the secret agent angle, this is more plodding rom/com caper than Eurospy. Watch it for Edward G. Robinson.
