Probably one of the best, most deranged, depictions of fan culture and the modern desire to go viral with A Cool Story. Completely unintentionally.
For those unaware, Disney World has this thing called “magical moments.” Basically cast members can choose to give a kid a free ice cream when they order it or allow someone to ride a ride two times in a row. Sometimes these are set daily things, for example, at one of the resort hotel shops they allow a random kid to pick the outfit of a doll that sits behind the counter every day. It adds to the atmosphere of the trip being “magical.” Anything can happen. Recently, Disney Moms have become aware of these magical…
I wanted to watch the other Bill Murray movie, but it was no longer available.
This doc is made by the girl from Wrong Turn 6. She talks on the phone with the director of Leprechaun, hangs out with the director of Children of the Corn 2, and interviews the girl from Halloween all with the interest of meeting Bill Murray.
I had heard about a documentary about the seemingly random Bill Murray pop ups that were taking social media by storm a few years ago. As it turns out, there are two documentaries with that as the focus and I watched the wrong one. This one is centered around a girl who decides she wants her own Bill Murray story and seeks him out. Which by and large, defeats the purpose. It felt indulgent and off the mark, though she seems well meaning.
Basically, a spoiled looking hot chick gets dumped by her fiancé and tries to force herself into having a Bill Murray experience (which is typically a random Bill Murray encounter) as a way to get over it. Spoiler alert: she gats as far as seeing him at a fund raiser golf tournament but doesn't get a true experience... so this was worthless to watch.
Apparently, what I was thinking I was going to watch is actually "The Bill Murray Stories".
Let me be real I turned this the hell off. “I want an organic bill murray experience “ then proceeds to stalk the living hell out of him go to frequent spots and attempts to hunt him down. Nothing about this seemed genuine and that’s what scares me even more. Bill Murray should get a restraining order. Not quirky , not cute get a hobby.
I mean this definitely wasn’t good but it was suggested as the best that peacock had to offer
this one's a big yikes from me.
the interview with joel murray is especially cringe-inducing. you can see in his eyes how utterly embarrassed/bored he was by the "omg you're bill murray's brother" line of questioning.
really uncomfortable 😩
I have no idea why this is 81 minutes. I have no idea why I watched all of those minutes.
