Great album in good shape

When I initially heard this the moment it came out I loved it having seen Cream in '67&'68 and following Sir Eric through his many changes since 1966. This is the best you can get mixing the country/blues styles of Delaney & Bonnie with the rock/blues/soul of Clapton. And Bonnie can really belt it out as she does on many of this CD's numbers. I love that the backing band are the Dominoes who hadn't officially formed yet. I wish that this could be remastered and re-released as the entire show and maybe even a DVD because I have a copy of the Denmark show which is fantastic!!

I've listened to this album off & on for over 30 years and it really is the relatively unknown and unrecognized gem that other reviewers say it is. When it was transferred from vinyl to cd I thought there was a terrible drop-off of Clapton's fantastic guitar work. Actually tossed the cd out & stuck with a tape I'd made from the original lp. Anyway, I was about to get the tape transferred to CD by one of the better transfer companies (hint, in Pittsburgh) but wanted to make sure the tape was really superior to the cd. So I bought another cd from amazon, listened exhaustively to both it and my old tape and decided the cd was just fine. Not sure what happened, but I'd take a prior reviewer's criticism of the quality of the cd with a grain of salt and go ahead and buy it. Then listen...you'll be just as happy as the other reviewers who rave about this album.

Delaney and Bonnie could sing with the best of the soul/country singers, and with the right band, brought downhome roots with rock and roll sensibilities to a wider audience. Much like the Band, they were "big" in their time, but certainly not as big as some of the fine folks they played with like Eric Clapton, George Harrison, or even Duane Allman. Their influence, however, rippled through to a new generation of Southern musicians.

I'm always been a fan of Delaney & Bonnie. I must be to love them like I do without ever having any of their music that was recorded really well. I generally prefer studio recordings because the energy & spontaneity possible from live recordings usually (to me)just comes across as the band just jamming as fast and loud as they can which is a hoot if you're there, but is rarely captured in a recording.
Truly gifted muscicans (such as E. Clapton & Bonnie B.) and vocalists (such as D. Bramlett)can really get it across more effectively when they can take their time to fully develop every note, tone & chord. These are capable of much more than I hear on this cd.
That being said, if I lost my copy, I'd get another.

One of the greatest albums of the era... Which means of any era...

Not a great CD, but it does contain some solid R & B / gospel tinged rock & roll. Clapton was in a transition phase in his own career when he played with Delaney & Bonnie ... trying to find a direction he wished to undertake as a solo artist. His playing on the album is mostly understated ... not a lot of edgy, soaring solos ... sticking mostly within the framework of each song. The time he spent in this band shaped the direction he took in the next few years ... while Delaney & Bonnie's career never really took off ...

「I Don't Want to Discuss It」が一番好きです。ちなみに、この曲と
「Only You Know and I Know」の2曲は、廃盤になってしまいましたが

Love this retronic music where the hard axe can be heard on stage and wailing voices fill in the void with love howls of drug fuelled ecstasy of the early 70as and thunder crash drums pound a tribal skin in stadiums across the civilized world.
