I recall Delaney and Bonnie from their work with Eric Clapton on ' Delaney, Bonnie and Friends' and was extremely pleased to see some of their older work like 'Rock Star', that Bonnie wrote with Leon Russell. I'm somewhat put out though that this album (nor any of theirs but 'D/B and Friends') has been issued in a remastered edition. I think Clapton owes to his old friends to pressure the record companies to reissue Delaney and Boonie's other albums in a better quality format-They truly are a nationa Treasure and set the standard for the massive infusion of Southern Rock that followed them. Come On Eric, don't let these guys fade away because of the limited recording technology they had to deal with in the 60's/70's.

Really enjoy the CD. Definitely a late 60's/70's blues sound with great vocals and guitar. Actually arrived from England faster than advertised.

Used to have several of their albums back in the day, but like most people of my generation the records have disappeared and I had not replaced all the ones I loved. Heard "When This Battle is Over" played at the end of a movie soundtrack and thought for a minute it was Macy Gray, even though I remembered it was D & B, so I researched it and then bought this compilation. Missing some of my other favorite songs, but this is a good substitution for the other ones lost. One of the great bands of the time.

Loved these guys in the 70's. Acutely disappointed with the first half of this CD; recording is off or the musicians are off, I'm not too sure as I don't even want to listen to this again for a while. And what's with the song selection: where is "Better Come On in my Kitchen"? Some of the CD's second half songs come close to capturing the magic, especially of Bonnie's voice. Some love affairs are better left in the past, like Traffic's John Barleycorn. This CD may be another. If this is all that's left of Delaney & Bionnie, that's a real shame.

Although I don't agree with Delaney & Bonnie's chosen lifestyle or their more common messages, I do love the raw conviction that they convey. I purchased this album just for one track ("Will the Circle"). Being out of print, this was the only way to get it. It was certainly worth the price.

This is a fine collection as far as it goes. I wish it had more from the deleted "To Bonnie from Delaney" and "Motel Shot", as these feature Duane Allman, and should really be brought back into print!

I play this CD on my Harley 180 watt Harmon Kardon stereo ... It's the perfect soundtrack for a long ride ... If this music doesn't get you moving you have no pulse.

OK, love the sone "I've got a neverending love for you" but didn't remember much about Delaney & Bonnie except they toured with Clapton back in the day. Not much in the way of really great hit's on this album but Bonnie sure has that Soulie Bluesie voice.

An important musical catalyst in their time but this compilation of recordings fail to capture this

As someone who was buying records in late 60s and early 70s you could not avoid this group and its many offspring, but I had very few recordings in my collection so decided to test the waters with this now quite old Rhino compilation given this US label often equalling ACE in the quality of their releases.
After a couple of listens I have to admit it is not just my style - too much white gospel and while no doubt live they may have been amazing, in studio recordings that make up most of this set, they come across as very variable even if some (the tracks for "Motel Shot") were recorded live in the studio. Also while Delaney and Bonnie share vocals across many tracks, there is little standout in performances with many feeling too samey for my ears anyway. Even on their own penned material, others were to prove the better interpretations ("Groupie (Superstar)" in the hands of the Carpenters is the definitive version for me interestingly, which given its subject matter I was expecting the reverse to be the case).
Interestingly one of their singles which I had and treasure most ("Miss Ann" with original recordist Little Richard featuring fully throughout) is not included and overall the demise of the personal relationship between Delaney and Bonnie brought an end to the group without any major ongoing success. Sadly Delaney the man who many gave credit to for being such a musical force and catalyst, including Clapton and Harrison, per the liner notes had largely disappeared without trace from the music business before his death in 2008.

It’s years since I’ve listened to Delaney and Bonnie, the wait was well worth it once I put the CD on. Bought back some good memories, I can see why Lennon thought they were great as well .

I have a couple of D&B's vinyl L.P.s still in my collection from the early days and this CD offers a great collection of some of their best tracks. Well worth a listen if you're already a fan and if you don't know their music then you are missing a real treat. Russem

D&B Best

Brilliant, had this years ago on cassette.
Now I've rediscovered it😀.
If you want to get a taste for D&B buy this.
Latest A&R studios radio broadcast is of historical interest only as the idle chitchat and poor reproduction detracts from it.
Coming home is awesome.
