I had long wanted to go to Chavenage House. Not only is the place where Poldark and many other movies/shows were filmed, but it is a family owned manor house. Something unique and different for Americans to see and understand. The four siblings work hard to not only convey the history of the house, but how the house has evolved and what they do to keep it "in the family" and going (and updated/repaired when needed). An unexpected pleasure was how incredibly down-to-earth and approachable the family is. AND how funny! Their stories, presentation of house history, etc. is both vibrant and engaging. The house has many details and items that are in-place and historically unique -- stunning and museum quality details you might only see in the Victoria and Albert museum! The grounds are breathtaking and the hospitality warm and inviting. ENJOY your visit (make sure you plan for 2+ hours) and get the Seville Orange Marmalade on the way out (delicious!)

We thoroughly enjoyed our guided garden tour of Highgrove with Maggie. Very friendly, informative and knowledgeable. Unfortunately, our son was wingwalking for charity and we had to rush off after the tour to video him and take photographs. We will visit again in a different season whilst in Cirencester.

The arboretum is absolutely stunning and our visit was made all the more pleasant because of the lovely weather. I am taking one star off because our cafe experience wasn’t great. We sat outside and had a lovely table on the terrace looking onto the park. We enjoyed our soft drinks however we had ordered a chicken ciabatta to share and it just didn’t arrive- I had to chase it up and when it came it had clearly been sitting out ready for a while as it wasn’t hot. It was expensive at over £9. The cafe wasn’t busy when we arrived either so I don’t know what happened. I didn’t complain as it was my birthday and I was enjoying the day overall and didn’t want to spoil the experience. The guy at the till was very polite and friendly so it was probably a miscommunication with the kitchen but they need to sort this sort of thing out.

This church also forms part of many family memories, aunts and uncles were married here, cousins were christened here and grandparents are buried here so it was nice to revisit whilst we were in town.

The impressive spire can be seen from all directions as you enter the town, the nave dates from the late 1770s, but the best part for me are the high box pews which are fast becoming unique as other local churches seek to replace them with more modern chairs and furniture!
The church, as a whole, has a lovely light and airy feel to it. It is worth popping in, even if like me you may not be religious.

We went to the Westonbirt House for a family wedding. It would be an understatement to say the building and the grounds were stunning. I showed my friends photographs of the building and told them it was like a "little Downton Abbey". The service, hors d'ouvres and dinner were also excellent. I have no idea what our hosts paid for it, but if you want to make an impression on your guests, especially the American guests, I can't imagine a better location.

Staffed by ex police volunteers who are very informative, easy to find, not far from a car park. Don't miss the courtroom upstairs. Very interesting for kids of all ages.

Lovely ruins with house built into it.
The church opposite is delightful. It is privately owned so no facilities and off the main road with only a sign for the Norman Church.

My wife and I and friends very regularly attend some of the quality shows provided at The Goods Shed always at reasonable prices. A superb venue that I feel Tetbury are privileged to have on our doorstep thanks entirely to the dedication of many volunteers who are so welcoming every time one visits. A big thank you. However, I have to say I was both disappointed and embarrassed attending the Comedy Club on the 4th February. The performances by both the two so called comedians, one of which was a woman, and in fact the compère were extremely crude and really not appropriate for a mixed audience of ‘nice’ people in Tetbury. It is very easy to get a taster of performers standard on You Tube. So I am surprised whoever is responsible for the bookings isn’t a little more selective. Fortunately the Comedy Club is very much the exception to the rule, everything else about The Goods Shed is an absolute delight. Thank you again.

We were surprised to find this small, 19c church but were delighted when we went inside. It is a real gem and one can easily see why the Churches Conservation Trust has taken it under its wing. Well worth a visit if you have any interest in church architecture. This was a real contrast to the coldness of our reception at the nearby St Mary's.

Tetbury market house was completed in 1655 and is a Grade 1 listed building.
It is without doubt the most striking building in the attractive town of Tetbury.
We have passed the market house on many occasions but never stopped to have a look.
Nowadays stalls set up underneath and the market house is rented out for functions.
Well worth a look if you're in the area.

My sister & I had an amazing time with a half day spa experience. All of the staff were very friendly, kind & welcoming nothing was too much trouble.
Afterwards we had a wonderful lunch in the brassiere also with excellent service. Our waitress Vicky was very lovely and friendly, will definitely be going back.
