Tenille Dashwood Talks Life After WWE, Harboring No Ill-Will: I'm Grateful For The Journey

Tenille Dashwood has found the perfect path to happiness for herself outside of WWE.

Emma was part of the early days of the WWE Women's Evolution. She and Paige competed in the first-ever Women's Championship Match broadcast on WWE Network back in 2014 at NXT Arrival. eventually, her time in WWE would come to an end and while she is still wrestling for IMPACT Wrestling, she also has many passions outside of the squared circle that bring her happiness and peace of mind.

Speaking with Graham Matthews of FanSided's Daily DDT, Tenille explains how she came to the mindset of finding happiness without returning to Australia and starting over following her release from WWE.

“There’s different mindsets, isn’t there? Some people can leave WWE and it’s hard for them to find their footing,” Dashwood said. “For me, I guess in ways I had already prepared myself for that day because I knew inevitably I wouldn’t work for WWE eventually and when that time comes, am I going to pick up everything I have and move back home to Australia and start again? No, that’s not what I want. So I did what I could to get ready by starting a business on the side and investing in things like setting up my travel and lifestyle so I could continue all the things that I loved and enjoyed.”

For Dashwood, although she is grateful for the journey, for her leaving WWE was inevitable and while that was perfect for her life during the time she worked there, what she is doing now is better for her life currently.

“People are often in this bubble in WWE,” she said. “I had an amazing career there and I’m very grateful for it. People will ask, ‘Do you wish you could go back?’ or ‘Do you have any hard feelings?’ and I don’t. What I was doing was perfect for my life then and what I’m doing is perfect for my life now. That influenced where I am now and I’m grateful for the journey.”

Tenille Dashwood can be seen every Thursday on IMPACT Wrestling on AXS TV. We have live coverage in our results section every week.
