At RWTH, we aim to train highly qualified and responsible graduates for science, industry, and society. Our academic teaching and learning is skills-driven, research-based, and practice-orientated.

To achieve this, we seek to ensure excellence in teaching, focusing on students in all their diversity and following a research-led teaching approach. Innovative teaching, learning and assessment concepts, student-centric support services, a strong quality management and continuing education system help to ensure that as many students as possible successfully complete their degree without compromising University’s stringent quality standards.

Honors and Awards

RWTH regularly presents teaching awards to honor outstanding instructors and innovative teaching concepts. These awards serve as an incentive for continuous improvement in teaching and learning and honor those who are committed to delivering outstanding teaching. Through the Dean's List, top performing students are recognized and supported at an early stage.

Mentoring

The Aachen Mentoring Model is a successful program at RWTH which supports students throughout their studies. The program has not only been developed to address possible problems early on, but also to identify personal developmetn goals and promote talents.

Continuing Education and Training

Instructors at RWTH have access to a wide range of continuing education opportunities to further develop their teaching and assessment skills. They can benefit from individual consulting services and structured qualification programs.

Funding for Teaching and Learning

Instructors can apply for so-called Quality Improvement Funds in order to implement projects that further enhance teaching and learning at RWTH. Innovative projects can also be supported through RWTH’s culture of enablement initiative.
