What travelers are saying
- macedonboyGlasgow, UK179,824 contributionsThis is a popular hiking trail that leads up to the peak of the mountain, 183 metres high. The most popular starting point seems to be just to the south of Xiangshan Park or you can start from Yongchungang Park. The former is steeper, shorter and only takes about 20 minutes, but both provide a good workout. I actually climbed from Xiangshan Park, then climbed down to Yongchungang Park, which took about an hour and made the hike worthwhile.
The views at the top are excellent. You'll get views of Taipei 101.Written May 7, 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. The related Metro Station is only 5 minutes away, compared to using the public buses.
The tall Entrance Gate painted in white and blue is perfect background for taking photos. There are two colorful buildings on both sides of the Gate. They are used for shows. After these two buildings are beautiful gardens with trees, benches, ponds with white bridges, etc.
The Memorial is the center of this attraction. It has a huge statue of Chiang Kai Shek, guarded by 2 soldiers. In the Basement, are a museum, a room with paintings and beautiful orchid plants, some shops and snack bar.
Free to enter these attractions. Come early, my enjoyment was slightly challenged by the hot weather and the heat of the sun reflected in the marble floors of the areas leading to the Memorial.Written May 6, 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. I'm not sure how anyone can finish this in a couple hours unless they're just rushing past everything. I took my time and when the museum closed at 5pm, I had only finished 2 floors! I had to come back the next day at 2pm to see the floor I missed, and I finished it with a half hour before closing - enough time to check out the gift shop. If only I had shown up at 9am on the first day, then I would have finished it all in one day and wouldn't have had to pay admission twice.Written April 25, 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - bcheongShanghai, China26,770 contributionsStill the iconic building in taipei. The shopping mall boasts a wide array of luxury and non luxury brands. - TJeinsteinwoodDeal, UK410 contributionsIt must get really busy here - but it was lovely and quiet when we went. Get the metro to Taipei zoo and walk about 5-10 mins to the gondola station.
There are tickets machines outside and inside the building. It costs NT$120 per adult for a 1 way journey (approx £3). Like everything in Taiwan it's very clean and ordered.
There are clear bottom cable cars and normal ones - there are queue lines are marked for either. We got straight into a cable cat and had it to ourselves. It's a 30 journey each way. The cable car is really quiet and smooth.
There's not much to see at the top as it's not at the top of the mountain but it's still worth going up for the views.
You can get the bus back down- much cheaper at NT$15 per person but we went down by cable car as there was quite a long wait - each bus stop has time tables in English.
If you are planning on going to the zoo afterwards, get off at the zoo south station (not the last terminal station) as you can buy a zoo ticket and then walk down the hill rather than up again!
It's great!Written April 2, 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews. - TJeinsteinwoodDeal, UK410 contributionsIt's an absolutely beautiful building and so worth a visit.
Come on MRT blue line and exit to Longshan - you won't miss the temple!
It's stunning to see - lots of people attending to pray and visitors taking photos. Offerings are being made, along with a big queue of people buying offerings.

- shend708Sabah, Malaysia40 contributionsConveniently Taipei zoo is located next to the MRT brown line station. There is an entrance fee to the zoo, we bought our ticket from Klook but you can also buy at the tikit machines outside the entrance gate. The place was amazingly well structured with a lot of resting area, food stalls and toilets. If you're tired of walking there is also a shuttle train to send you up hill to see more interesting animals. The fee is $5 per trip per person. Our train driver was going really fast, I had to hold grip to the seat handle. We spent a good 4 hours in the zoo. The only disappointing thing about the trip was that the Panda house was closed for 2 days when we were there so we didn't get to see them.Written May 9, 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - GLENDA WMelbourne, Australia10 contributionsWent to Taipei 101 after recommendations from others. View was spectacular although bit smoggy. Certainly worth the trip up to 81st, 87th and 91st floors. - Jeff KPittsburgh, PA2,111 contributionsThis place is huge with a number of different buildings and various altars. All of the structures have detailed, artistic woodwork and there is a lot of variety. The temple is also very active as a lot of people were praying and burning incense when we were there.
We saw this and the nearby Confucius temple that is less than a block away. The two temples are quite different and we were glad that we went to both.Written March 16, 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC.
