Jason Bateman has said that he found it difficult to swear in front of his 6-year-old co-star Sydney Rouviere in The Change-Up. The former Arrested Development star explained that while it was nice to let his wild side loose in the R-rated comedy, he felt guilty for having to curse in front of the young actress playing his daughter in the film. Bateman told the Huffington Post: "You spend 20 minutes apologizing to her and her mother and another 20 afterward, and then while you're shooting, you just kind of let it fly." "She was a great little actress, she got it, she understood the jokes." Bateman went on to reveal that the movie, which also stars Ryan Reynolds, (more)...

Jason Bateman is stirred awake by a duet of dead-of-night cries over a baby monitor placed on his bedside table. Playing -- for the moment -- an earnest father and hard working lawyer named Dave, Bateman opens the "The Change-up" by responding to the parent alarm with a well-practiced series of shoulder rolls and quick breaths, before checking in on his infant twins. And, a few sloppy hijinks later, getting a hot blast of diarrhea sprayed into his mouth.
Thusly begins what was, Bateman revealed in a conversation with The Huffington Post, the funniest script he had ever read.
"I was like, wait a second, this is how they're gonna start? All right, I'm ready, my knees are bent, I'm prepared for anything they're gonna throw me," he laughed, remembering his reaction to the opening scene, "and they didn't disappoint. It just kept coming."

When I last left off in Part 1 of our set visit for The Change-Up, I was describing a hilarious scene with Ryan Reynolds and young actress Sydney Rouviere, which involved multiple alternate lines, all of which were hilarious. When that scene wrapped up, and they were setting up the next shot, we had a chance to speak with the stars of The Change-Up, Jason Bateman and Ryan Reynolds. Even with most of this shoot behind them, both actors were still in incredibly high spirits and they both seemed genuinely pleased to be there. Here's what both of these top-notch comedy actors had to say about their experiences thus far on The Change-Up.
Actors Jason Bateman and Ryan Reynolds:
We haven't actually seen you guys changing yet. Are you "doing" each other when you change?
Jason Bateman: It's not that. I told (diretor) (David) Dobkin early that my talents...

To be perfectly honest with you, when I first heard about the upcoming Universal Pictures comedy The Change-Up, I was rather skeptical, even with some A-list talent attached in front of and behind the camera. It's a body-switching movie, which evoked 1980s memories of movies such as Like Father, Like Son, Vice Versa, and even Big, to a certain extent. It's a genre we haven't seen explored in years, with the last prominent example being the Disney remake Freaky Friday, which launched Lindsay Lohan into the stratosphere of stardom. The folks at Universal Pictures invited me to the set of The Change-Up back in January of this year, and, despite my initial trepidations about the movie, which opens in theaters nationwide on August 5, I was sold on the comedy after leaving the set.
