A body of an older man has been found floating in the waters near Pyrmont this morning, with police now investigating the circumstances surrounding the man's death.
According to NSW Police, emergency services were called to Pirrama Wharf, located in Pyrmont, at 7.30am after reports a body was found floating in the water.
Officers from Sydney City Police Area Command, with the assistance of the Marine Area Command, recovered the body of a man believed to be in his 50s.
Speaking on the cause of death, NSW Police said that nothing has been ruled out at this stage and is currently being treated as potentially suspicious.
NSW Police said no cause of death will be determined until an autopsy is completed.
He is yet to be formally identified.
