American track athletics star Sydney McLaughlin-Levrone will line-up for her first race this year at the Mt. SAC Relays in California.

The two-time Oympic champion hasn’t competed since winning the 400m at the U.S. Championships last July.

She withdrew from the 2023 World Championships and missed defending her title over a 'minor knee issue'. The 400m hurdles world record holder opted to be fully healthy for the Olympic Games in Paris 2024.

In her absence, Dutch runner Femke Bol, who is also the second fastest woman over the 400m hurdles, won her first world title in Budapest.

At the Hilmer Lodge Stadium on Saturday 20 April, the 24-year-old McLaughlin-Levrone will line up in the women's 4x100m Relay alongside Keni Harrison, Jenna Prandini, and Morolake Akinosun.

The versatile sprinter is using the race to sharpen her speed for usual 400m hurdles where she remains the major contender to defend her gold from the Tokyo 2020 Olympics.
