Suzuki Prices, Reviews, and Photos - MotorTrend

Suzuki Motor Corporation is a Japanese automaker best known for its small cars, trucks, and SUVs, which it sells in its home market and more than 190 other countries.

Are Suzuki cars still sold in the U.S.? No. Suzuki pulled out of the U.S. market in 2012 due to slow sales, diminishing profits, and increasingly stringent safety standards. That's a shame because the brand was just starting to show real promise with cars like the Kizashi sedan , a four-door that walked the line between compact and midsize. Suzuki officially entered the U.S. market in 1985 with the Suzuki Samurai , a small, capable 4x4 SUV that would later become the subject of a highly publicized vehicle safety debacle involving rollover accidents. But Suzuki cars were actually imported to the U.S. before the Samurai thanks to a deal with General Motors, which held a large stake in the company until the mid-2000s. Suzuki vehicles were rebadged as Chevrolets and Geos, helping GM compete against other Japanese automakers with affordable small cars of its own. Suzuki itself was no stranger to badge engineering, having marketed a reskinned version of the Nissan Frontier midsize pickup truck as the Suzuki Equator in an effort to diversify its U.S. lineup.
