This is not the first time the royal's literary work has been published. Last year, Sarah released a historical romance titled Her Heart for a Compass, which quickly became a Sunday Times best-seller. The novel placed 10th in the UK's hardback fiction bestsellers chart, after selling 1,079 copies in a week in August 2021. The story was inspired by the exploits of the writer’s aristocratic ancestor, Lady Magaret Montagu Douglas Scott, and follows the story of the duchess's great-great aunt's journey of self-discovery across Ireland, America, and Britain.

According to Hello!, the first edition of the series will make its way onto bookshelves by the end of June. Titled Demons Land, the fictional story, which is co-authored by Michelle Worthington, ‘is inspired by her own anxieties as a child and the loss of her mother’.

The mother of Princess Eugenie and Beatrice released a statement describing her love of the YA genre, concluding that there is ‘something about adolescence - with all its incredible triumphs and heartbreaking failures - that makes it the perfect backdrop for powerful storytelling’.

According to the duchess, she wanted to 'share my story of growing up with anxiety and an eating disorder, along with witnessing firsthand the effects of generational trauma. For me, it is always present and it all started at the loss of my mother’.

The 62-year-old author went on to say, ‘with my charity work, I’m in constant contact with young people and I have so much empathy for everything they have been through in the past two years. They are a capable and compassionate generation and their help as consultants on this book to make sure we captured the essence of what it’s like to be a teenager today was instrumental in the writing of the book’.
