What's deal with Powegirl in media

Power girl is one of the most interesting ones since so far one was her being a clone and the other was Supergirl dressed up pretending to be power girl in dcshgs. We do have at least one movie with her as a main cast. Is it due to how similar she is to the main supergirl or is it just something else ?

Yes, one reason is that she feels redundant when Supergirl is already there.

Plus, Power Girl's origins are always a giant mess so it makes things even more difficult.

Bad writing.

Why use Power Girl when you can use the more recognisable Supergirl?

When it comes to movies and media outside the comics you have to cater to a wider, more casual audience. Supergirl is the better option when it comes to that Superman powered female character for that reason alone.

When you add on the convoluted history of Power Girl it's just not worth the effort really.

True. I only ask since wb animation is also good at either using new characters or reworking those characters
