Asda Advert – Better In Full Colour

Promoting their tasty and healthy range of fruit and veg, Asda kicks off the year with this new advert that tells us ‘Life Tastes Better In Full Colour’.

The part black and white, part colour 30-second ad shows Asda staff and customers brightening baskets with lots of quality checked delicious fruit and veg before the advert’s voice-over invites viewers to “Get that Asda price feeling”.

What’s the music in the Asda advert?

Song Title: Sunshine, Lollipops And Rainbows.
Artist: Lesley Gore.
Download or Preview at: Amazon UK.

The music in this Asda ad is a rerecorded version of a song called ‘Sunshine, Lollipops And Rainbows’ that was originally recorded by the American singer-songwriter and actress Lesley Gore.

Taken from her second album ‘Lesley Gore Sings of Mixed-Up Hearts’, which also includes the hit ‘You Don’t Own Me’, the single was released in 1963.

For the version used in their New Year’s ad, Asda has understandably replaced the word ‘lollipops’ with ‘vegetables’.
