I bought the MOR blue garden album when it came out and thought it was great. I then lost track of MOR for a long time. I just finished listening to Cream's 4 cd box set when out of the blue, a hidden thought came to me that Ginger Baker played on an album with MOR. After listening to Amazon song samples, I bought a copy immediately, and I just finished my very first listen. What a fun album! It's only 42 minutes in length comprising of 14 songs but it is very eclectic. Ginger was truly a master drummer in the 60's. Unfortunately, the sound quality of the Cream music could have been much better, especially Ginger's drumming. Here he is, larger than life and MOR made an album where you can hear his drumming without any sacrifices to the music. Ginger even does satire in T.U.S.A and it sounds so cool! MOR is about Chris Goss and he has a sweet, melodic voice that makes you want to sing along. I like the song ideas & the musicality. The only negatives I have is that this album isn't as heavy as the blue garden and I wish that some songs would have gotten stretched out a little bit more so you can savor them. The longest song is just over 4 minutes and there is some obvious filler. Other than that, I enjoyed this very much.

OMG =Ginger Baker= the ONLY DRUMMER I know of who can play 4/4 time and 5/4 time so easily and precisely , switching back and forth effortlessly.
/bow Mr. Baker~
I can't get enough of this cd. It was very expensive though I bought it NEW DUE to knowing Ginger Baker will get royalties from this CD. The ONE and only REASON NOONE should buy it as a used copy. Ginger didn't get royalties from Cream, his own band.
There is NOT a bad song on this CD. I'm humbled to have seen Beware of Mr. Baker to snap me back into reality he's the best drummer of our time. He went off the radar for a lot of us.. This album proves everything or any question of his drumming you could ever want to ask especially doubting his brilliant timing. Switching from 4/4 to 5/4 and back is something the average drummer has no idea how to do.

Nice recording. I like Ginger Baker so I wanted to check this album out. I bought this on Casette thinking I bought a CD by accident. So then I noticed how expensive this in CD was. So I bought the download MP3 format, converted them to wave and then burned them to CD. Sounds really nice. This is a good album. Seems like the other material by Masters of Reality has a lot to offer too from what I have listened to so far! I like Kill the king and much of their material. But I bought this Sunrise on the Sufferbus after I watched Ginger Baker's Hot Licks Drum video as he demonstrated about three or four of the songs on this project so this made me want the album to try and play along to a bit. Ginger demonstrated some of the rudiment and paradiddle formats within these tracks.

Yeah, I'm a big Cream fan. And most of the trio stuff those individual guys did after Cream's break-up (including the Cream reunion) had its share of pleasures and disappointments. But this CD - oh man - this is sheer perfection from beginning to end. First of all, Baker has never been better. Crisp, driving, swinging - always propelling the band forward without overwhelming the song or the other musicians. Rock drumming does not get better than Ginger on this album - and that includes anything Cream did in the studio. The songs are very well written - beautiful, melodious, and casual. Chris's vocal is a showcase of range and empathy - and everybody just seems to be so in the groove and having a great time. Whether you're into Cream, Baker, Goss, or Queens of the Stone Age, this CD should have massive appeal across age groups and musical tastes. It's damned near brilliant.

I might have never discovered this great record if I had not been flipping through TV channels one afternoon with my roommate and saw three guys doing an acoustic jam on some obscure TV talk show. My friend said, "check the drummer out." It was Ginger Baker (we're both Cream fans) playing some cardboard boxes and a coffee cup. Pretty amazing stuff. Then he found the CD in a store and we both proceeded to wear the disc out for the next five years or so. We parted ways amicably and he took his CD with him. I hadn't heard it in almost a decade when I found it on Amazon and ordered it immediately. Still sounds as good as it did 15 years ago and even sounds great without weed! One of the best rock albums ever!
My iPod just got a little cooler.

No doubt this record is brilliant but who in their right mind would pay over $50 for this CD. These guys all have more than enough money and the MP3 is less than $6 ...even if they were cool enough to release it on vinyl asking more than $30 for an album in any format borders total greed and ridiculousness. Great music none the less.

This album took me by surprise. I bought it because I heard "T.U.S.A" and fell in love with it. The whole album is full of terrific, catchy guitar work & good writing. I like the inclusion of the little song segments and the fact that the songs hit hard and fast. A lot of fun. I live in the US and this is an import purchase for me. I'm glad I made the investment. "Pour boiling water over the tea bag." Got it.

Legendary 2nd Album on vinyl

The astounding second release from MOR now sees a wider release on vinyl after a limited run for Record Store Day. Yes, it sounds amazing on vinyl as you would expect and the warmth of the recording really shines with sublime drumming from the late ginger baker and some of the band's best music, mellow, bluesy, desert rock at its finest. A shame then that Chris Goss was not consulted or compensated for this release so one star deducted from what is an essential 5 star stoners delight.

This is a great album by a great band, who lets be honest should be bigger (commercially not in height or mass). The package is great and Ginger Baker is on it, therefore it’s cool!

Nicht umsonst produzierte er einige Queens of the Stone Age Alben. Alle richtigen Qutsa Fans sollten sich daher verpflichtet fühlen hier mal reinzuhören ;)

Powertrio mit Ginger Baker liefert tolle Hommage an Cream
Reviewed in Germany 🇩🇪 on April 24, 2014
