In “Welcome to Wrexham,” Rob McElhenney and Ryan Reynolds learn to run the third oldest professional football club in the world. In 2020, Rob and Ryan teamed up to purchase the fifth tier Red Dragons in the hope of turning Wrexham AFC into an underdog story the whole world can root. Well they took their show and team on the road to show off the team they purchased with a North American tour. The final stop was in the Philadelphia region at Subaru Park a soccer-specific stadium located in Chester, Pennsylvania, located next to the Commodore Barry Bridge on the waterfront along the Delaware River. The venue is home to the Philadelphia Union of Major League Soccer. The match was entertaining even though there was a VERY long weather delay to finish the game.
What about the food though? Subaru Park was pretty impressive in my opinion. Better than your average entertainment venue offers at about a similar price point. The highlight was The Wing Kitchen run by television show ‘Chopped’ winner Chef Timothy Witcher. Their approach is to provide customers with hot, fresh, one of a kind Chicken Wings, Chicken Tenders, and French Fries with exciting flavor combinations, and gourmet tossing sauces and as they say #DONTFORGETTHEDONUT if you have room. I really enjoyed their 6 piece boneless wings with sweet and spicy sauce that compliments the chicken perfectly. To top the night off it was a visit to Scoops N Smiles by Akain Rowland with a nice dessert of ‘The Big Blue Shake’ which I was told is a mix of vanilla and blue raspberry topped with whipped cream, sprinkles, and a jumbo cookie. I don’t know what the blue raspberry is made out of as my tongue was blue for two days afterwards, but whatever it is I’ll just call it delicious and a wonderful milkshake. Overall a nice time. It was my first visit to Subaru Park as well as watching a professional soccer game, and I have a feeling it won’t be my last.

Went on 5/17/23 for Union vs DC United. I paid ahead of time for a parking pass in Lot C. When you do this you expect to be able to park in the LOT YOU PAID FOR... The cashier attendant let in way more vehicles that the lot can obviously hold. The lot was so over crowded that people were parked on the grass and the streets all over the parking lot. There wasn't even one parking lot attendant to be seen in the entire lot to assist anyone with parking. I had to park 2 miles away from the stadium on a side street that was no where near the parking lot I paid for. I will never return again. Worst experience I ever had at a sporting event. Minor league hockey teams have more parking staff than this pro club did.
Once finally making it to the stadium I will admit the venue is very nice. The Commodore Barry Bridge going across the skyline and the water front view of the Delaware river both very ascetically pleasing. That said... I paid for home team pitch side tickets. The seats are quite small. If you are a larger person do not expect to feel comfortable. My friend is a rather small man and he still sat on half his seat as to not rub up against the 90lb mother of 4 he was next to. The food prices are also insane. You expect stadium mark up but 14.50 for a small bucket of fries. WHAT? 6.50 for a little bottle of coke. WHAT? That is insane.
The seating and food prices is nitpicking of course but Union seriously needs to get their parking situation sorted out. You robbed me when I wasn't able to park in the lot I prepaid for. I will never return after this.

We went to a game on 7/30/22. The stadium is great. Seats about 18,000 so it's big enough to have a nice size crowd with plenty of fans. Parking was good, but getting out of the parking lot, Parking Lot C, in our case, after game took quite a while. Once we got out of the parking lot, it took about 40 minutes for us to get back into the center of Philadelphia.

TRIP ADVISOR PLEASE UPDATE LISTING TO SUBARU PARK..
COVID ERA REVIEW- Ok first gotta say staff was very strict on the masks the constant security pointing at people and sometimes coming up to talk to people about masks was annoying when trying to watch the match but I understand their position- Wolf put them in a hard place with that. However they allowed gaiters unlike other venues I’ve been to which was awesome as I find them much more comfortable than regular masks ! Now back to regular review- relevant at all times- parking has always been plentiful but a pain to get in and out- no different even with reduced capacity but was easier to exit . Concessions are most of any venue I’ve been to so eat before! $6 for water really when you can’t bring one in? Staff everywhere is super friendly. Seats are awesome and comfy with all seats close to the pitch- truly no bad seats in general bowl- I say river end avoid though because it can get chilly due to the river and you have to stand and sons of Ben can be annoying sometimes. MLS action is very high quality and tickets are reasonable. It’s a good night out. In regular times I strongly advise going early for a good spot near an exit to make exit a bit easier as everyone drives basically due to no public transportation at stadium. Overall 4/5 and well worth the visit! DOOP!

... marred by horrendous parking situation. The fans are very enthusiastic , just beware with young children that they use ‘colorful language’. Food is pricey as to be expected but we were pleasantly surprised at the quality.

Had a great seat and really enjoyed the match. The walk from the car to the stadium was a killer for this senior.

We went here for my sons 8th birthday and he loved it. There are literally no bad seats in the stadium. Don’t feel pressure to pay for better seats, they are all close/good. The food and beer is overpriced but that’s just normal for todays stadiums. We went on kids day which was not that different from a normal day and I was actually hoping food and drinks would be cheaper but no, they were full price.
The fans were all nice, into the game and not rowdy or rude. The parking is expensive ($30) but the surrounding neighborhoods aren’t great so pay the extra and park close.
The back of the stadium is right on the water so make sure you walk out that way so the kids can throw some rocks into the river and take in the views. The stadium is also close to an airport and the views of planes poking through the clouds on their way to land was really cool.
Only thing that would keep us away is the prices. We got a groupon for this trip so we’ll be keeping an eye our for another.

The Talen Energy Stadium hosts the Philly Union MLS team. The stadium itself was a typical stadium, a concourse of overpriced food/drinks and souvenirs. The seating was great, not a bad view from any seat. The stadium is located in a not so great area but with so many people around I dont think there are any problems. We Ubered from a nearby hotel so as not to deal with parking costs. We read there was a dedicated Uber pick up spot but neither staff or Uber drivers knew anything about it. Overall it is a nice place to catch a match.

This was our first MLS game. The stadium is amazing but are surrounding it is questionable to say the least. In the future hopefully the are will become less baron and desolate looking. As I said the stadium was amazing and I do not believe there is a bad seat in the place. Food and Drinks are overpriced like at any Professional Sports venue so difficult for a family to be able to afford the tickets, food, and parking costs.

Hi, Are the parking lots gated? I'm concerned about security in that area. How safe is it to park in a lot and walk to and from the stadium.

No food or drink. I don’t think I saw them letting anyone bring in bottled water. They did let people bring in flags banners and noisemakers

I am planning to attend a soccer game in August. Is it safe to use the train with a young child if the game is in the evening? I would travel from downtown Philadelphia. I won't have access to a car.
I heard that the area is really not safe. However I also heard that there is a safe shuttle from the local train station before and after the games.
Thanks.

I left a game just before ten and felt safe walking to the parking garage, which is next to the train station. I had an eight year old with me and it wasn't an issue. There were so many other people exiting I would have a hard time believing someone would try something.

Your choices are either Wilmington to the south, the Philadelphia airport hotels to the north, or east in New Jersey.
The event I went to had people booked in center city Philadelphia - don't do that.
If you stay at the airport hotels you are in a dead zone - just hotels and freeway, nothing else.
I actually stayed eight minutes away in New Jersey.
I stayed at the TownePlace Suites in Swedesboro, which is across the Commodore Barry Bridge (toll going into PA, free into NJ).
There is a growing cluster of new hotels right off the NJ Turnpike (free), with all the usual suburban conveniences - a WaWa for gas and convenience foods, chain restaurants like Applebees and a Target. Suburbia, sure, but certainly convenient.
And only eight minutes away from the stadium.
I'm stay here again in September when I attend another event.

Hello, Sorry just saw this question now. I'm not 100% sure but I don't think their is area camping/RV locations. I've thoroughly read through the FAQ for the show and did not see any mention of camping in the area.
