About
The Strip District is a scenic Pittsburgh neighborhood featuring historic landmarks, top-notch food and great shopping options. Squeezed between the Allegheny River and a railroad, the area is worth visiting at any time. During the day, you can browse the countless ethnic and produce markets, and drop by the first Primanti Brothers location, while at night, you can explore all the taverns and breweries. You can learn about the city’s rich history at the Senator John Heinz History Center. Don't miss the neighborhood's main icon, St. Stanislaus Kostka Church, as well. The Strip District is included in several Pittsburgh walking tours. – Tripadvisor

    Unique experience
One of the most unique experiences is visiting the Strip District. Where else can you visit so many different cultur food experiences so close together. Pennsylvania Macaroni Co was our favorite but Wholeys is a must see also. Start your day by having hot cakes and Lyon size potatoes at Pamela’s. She never disappoints.

    Good place to explore
After driving for 4 hours, it was nice to stop and walk a bit to explore Pittsburgh. Pretty easy to find parking at lunchtime on a weekday. There's a good mix of restaurants and touristy souvenir shops, with a few local places mixed in. Be sure to hit the candy shop! The Heinz History Center is in this area and worth a visit too. A few blocks still felt a little gritty "up and coming" but we felt safe walking around.

    A Path through History
This is Historic Pittsburgh. This area is down where a lot of immigrants mingled, and even went to church! My Great Grandfather was married in what is now the Orchard Hill Church, but was St. Elizabeth's many years ago. There's also the St. Stanislaus Kostka Church where Tom Cruise as "Jack Reacher" handles a group of ruffians hired to put him out of commission. There are a lot of shops, and restaurants in the district, including the first Primanti's, which is famous for it's sandwiches.

    Shops & Pittsburgh Staples
Great place to walk around and visit different shops! Majority of the shops are for the city’s professional sport teams, not so much for Pittsburgh itself. Multiple places to eat but no options for gluten free needs.

    Worth the walk!
We liked this area so much we came twice! Lots of shops and good eats. Steeler memorabilia along with Penguins and Pirates. Easy walk, side walks are level. Recommend to everyone who has time to walk and browse.

One of the best attractions in Pittsburgh
I think this is the best attraction for the city overall even though I come here for the football game primarily this is also worth staying the extra night over. Great restaurant, shops, coffee and more. Definitely it should be part of your visit.

    City of bridges.
First time visiting Pittsburgh with my wife on Valentine’s Day and we fell in love with this place. It had so much charm. Couldn’t believe how beautiful (in some spots it seemed a little run down). From the tall buildings, to the beautiful bridges this city has became one of my favorite cities. We travel a lot and visit new places alot so that says something. We can’t wait to go back and explore more during the summer time.

    Hip fun!
Lined with historical warehouses, the now hip Strip District has a lively mix of iconic Pittsburgh based food shops, all the gifts from Pittsburgh you can dream of, hipster bars and so many spots to eat. Really unique spot in the city that shows its charm & character. It’s not a trip to Pittsburgh without seeing the strip! They have plenty of parking (that’s cheap!) so it’s easy to park & walk around. Really fun vibe in the Strip. We enjoyed our stroll around this vibrant area, taking it all in. Lots of great coffee shops, photo opps & just good vibes all around!

Headed here for something to do. Walk was nice, not to long or short. But if you go on a Saturday go early as lots of places closed early due to COVID 19. Stopped at Edgar’s taco’s a little pricey $3 per taco (Street taco size). But they were good. Also stopped at My Sweet Lily and got some baked goods.

We bring out of town guests here to experience the Strip especially during football season. Love all the vendors selling Pittsburgh gear. Plus some great restaurants- namely Primantis. Parking can be tough.

I go to the "Strip District" every time I'm in Pittsburgh - which is at least once a year. It's a great place to shop for pro sports clothing and accessories, I love it because I'm a Steelers fan, but they also have Pirates and Penguins attire (and a few other non-local teams, too). There's a small wine shop, plenty of great restaurants (including Primanti Brothers!), an antique shop, a costume store, and plenty of other boutique and specialty stores. The only reason I don't rate it 5 starts is because of the parking...it can be expensive, and sometimes hard to find.

our friend told us to check out this area, especially at night. it was Saturday, it was a long weekend (labor day) but the street was empty...lol

though we visited this area couple of times during our visit, and we found it good. famous primanti brothers (the first one) are in this area.

it was formerly occupied by warehouses and railroad installations but is now one of the city's main tourist attractions and a scene of lively activity throughout the day.
What was once a primarily industrial neighborhood is now packed with restaurants, international markets, museums, and shops. Along the strip and the Allegheny River, there are many fun activities to do and great options for getting your picture clicked.

It measures only half a square mile, but it has plenty of attractions and eateries to fill up your day (and your stomach). there are hardly any national chains restaurants, it has more independently run, family-owned restaurants and it gives this neighborhood its charm

Pennsylvania market (it's not market, but the name suggests otherwise) is another cool place to hang out.

Being from Pittsburgh it wasn’t my first visit to the Strip District. My husband and I actually got an AirBnB right on the Strip. I’m on a campaign to make my husband fall in love with the city like I’m in love with it. I thought a place on the Strip would be perfect in the Spring. Lots of thing to see, places to walk to, shops to browse and of course Primanti Bros!! I book the AirBnb and a few days before our stay confirmed cases of Covid-19 hit Pittsburgh. I was disappointed at first. All the bars and restaurants are closed but for take out as well as the shops. It turns out it’s actually an amazing place to be anyway! We still walked around and explored. Less people actually made it feel like everything was ours and we had the best time. People or no people it’s a nice place to walk through to downtown and see some of the city.

Love this place! Such personality in these streets, filled with unique stores, including a fantastic butchery and an Italian grocery store. Many places to grab a bite, shop for gifts, or get that Steelers merchandise. There are ample lots with ten dollar parking if street parking isn't available. One of my favorite areas of Pittsburgh.

I once heard that extroverts/introverts are less about how sociable you are, and more where you get your energy from. If you enjoy areas with lots of people and you feel energized by the vibrancy of countless things to look at and explore and people to interact with, you'll love the Strip. We had 3 separate families and a large group of young kids with us. We had donuts, visited Grandpa Joe's candy shop, ate at Primate's, and just walked and strolled and enjoyed it all on a Sunday morning. A must-do if you go to Pittsburgh in my opinion. It had died down a bit by mid-afternoon when we came back to get a late lunch, so if you want to be in the thick of it all (in a good way), to us it looked like weekend mornings were best.

We had heard so much about The Strip before our arrival in Pittsburgh that we headed here first upon arrival. We arrived around noon and found food stores, restaurants, more team shirts than I have ever seen anywhere, seemingly on every corner. I had expected to see unique shops, but only located one, the "art of steel" which was amazing and worth the trip. We ate lunch on the balcony at Cafe Raymond. It was nice to eat above the activity, the food was good, nothing to rave about. We peeked in the windows of the "Macaroni" store which was packed with folks buying deli items, it looked interesting as well. Perhaps the evening experience lives up to the hype.
