OFFBEAT is a cutting-edge photo community
that helps photographers push themselves creatively through meaningful online interaction, web-based resources and photo workshops held in some of the world’s wildest places.
Co-founded in 2016 by acclaimed Canadian photographers, Paul Zizka and Dave Brosha, OFFBEAT was created to help photographers—of all genres and levels of experience—grow in their craft and achieve their artistic and personal goals. At OFFBEAT, ego is left at the doorstep. Above all, we’re all about having fun with photography and exploring the limitless possibilities that one’s creativity has to offer.

To date, OFFBEAT has hosted sold-out photography workshops all over the world, in places like Greenland, Iceland, Mongolia, Antarctica, Bhutan and Namibia, as well as in some of Canada’s most prized destinations (Banff, Yellowknife, Tofino and Prince Edward Island). Repeat clientele rave about OFFBEAT’s approach to destination scouting, on-location teaching, classroom sessions and overall planning and logistics. Participants start off as strangers and end as lifelong friends, as well as lifetime members of OFFBEAT’s private online community.
The OFFBEAT Community, now over 900 members strong, is a community of like-minded, passionate and creative people, as well as a hub of resources with video tutorials, articles, partner deals and online courses. The community is included for free for OFFBEAT workshop attendees but also has monthly and annual membership pricing at staggeringly low rates. Fuelled by the creative injections of a team of talented contributors, the community offers weekly doses of new inspirations and teachings, as well as ongoing posts by group members for discussion, feedback and critique.
In 2022, photographer Kristopher Andres joined the ownership team at OFFBEAT.
