We stopped in to Becker around 11 am on a Saturday and were treated very well. The staff (we interacted with 4 different people over the course of our visit) were all very well informed and helpful. The wine was delicious and the Charcuterie plate was delicious. Excellent pairings of high quality ingredients and enough to feed the 3 of us in our group. Would highly recommend their wine. They also have a very nice gift shop featuring many different lavender items and some of the treats from our Charcuterie plate. Definitely worth your time. Next visit will most definitely be the winery itself.

We are excited to hear you enjoyed our Tasting Room on Main Street in Fredericksburg and our staff! Our Chef Michael has created our cheese plates to pair with the wines! And Lavender Mgr Chris creates the Lavender items from our Lavender Field. Thank you for sharing!

One of the best wineries we've visited in the Hill Country of Texas. We started out with a wine tasting of 6 different types of wines, none we tried were disappointing. We were there close to closing time and thought there could have been a few more serving personnel on duty, we had to wait some extended times between pours (our server was taking care of about a dozen people). We finally settled on one wine we wanted to try more of, so we ordered a glass, took it outside to enjoy the wine and a great view. Very relaxing with a nice view of the surrounding Hills. Finished the glass of wine and liked it so much that we purchased a bottle of it on the way out. There are lots of wineries in the Hill Country, this is one that you should not pass up.

Visited with my wife and we were very lucky with the weather. 83 degrees and sunny. Nice winery with a really good tasting experience. Pay for the private tasting it’s worth it. Solid wines and great bits. The wines are better than I thought they would be having never been to the wineries in Texas. Don’t go looking for a lot beautiful wines, you won’t find them. Most of the grapes used to make Texas wines are grown in the High Plains.

Thank you! We also have some new dining events you might also enjoy. Once a month (on a Saturday) we have the Chef's Table Luncheon and once a month (on Friday evening) the Wine & Dine Dinner. Both meals created by our chef, Michael Lockhart.

Success and doing things right attract people. There comes a point when too many people ruin the experience. Becker has a major dilemma. Do they limit access to create a more personal experience, or do they let everyone visit and become over crowded?

Becker is located well south of Hwy 290. It's the closest feel to Napa and Willamette Valley vineyards with beautiful landscaping, vineyards, courtyards, wine cellars and buildings. They have several award wining wines. Their walls are filled with special invitations from the President and Laura bush as well as other state officials. Their $30 flight price includes an upscale expensive Riedel wine glass you can keep. Riedel is a high end glass that can cost $30 a stem. It's a beautiful glass.

The down side to Becker is it's success. The tasting room is filled with people. You go to a check out lane to buy your tickets and glass. You proceed to a very crowded bar where you attempt to catch the attention of a server. They really do try to share knowledge and make the experience great, but there are too many people flagging them down for their turn.

My recommendation is to skip Becker on Saturdays and maybe Sunday. Try to be early or late and not during prime afternoon time. If you just want to try their wines and not visit the winery, try the tasting room on main street in Fredericksburg. Take the tour. A leader will ring a cowbell to be heard over the crowds of people. The tour lets you see the production floor, racking and wine cellar. I loved seeing all of it. Once we got in the cellar away from the crowds, it felt personal and appealing again.

Don't take shuttles to Becker. They drop off 30 people all at once. It creates a mini rush at the check out and bar. You're better driving. They have lots of parking. If the flight room is really busy, just skip it and buy a full bottle. Go out on the courtyard and enjoy your wine listening the music. Bring a deck of cards and enjoy yourself. If you get hungry, they have heavy snacks for sale.

Becker is a five star winery that I have to give four stars because there are too many people causing it to be overrun.

We have added some elevated experiences that may be helpful. We have The Art of Food & Wine Pairing (Fridays thru Sundays) with only 10 seats available for a more intimate experience. And we have the Riedel Tasting and the Library Tasting with only 20 seats each available. To avoid a busy Saturday, we are open 7 days a week. Thank you for the feedback! We appreciate your time!

It was a very casual atmosphere with a large selection of wines to choose from. The prices were higher than retail, but not egregiously so. The wines were well made and I was happy to hear that they're using Texas grapes for nearly all of their wines. The scenery was nice, but we just dropped in for a tasting before heading back to Fredericksburg.

It is wonderful you came to visit us! We appreciate you coming to try the wines and winery! The wines at the winery tasting room are our reserve and limited production ones which is why there is a different price (i.e. the grocery store has our non-reserve Viognier but the winery will have the Reserve Viognier). Along with owning our own vineyards, Becker Vineyards is the largest purchaser of premium Texas grapes in the State of Texas. We look forward to seeing you again soon!
