Producer Stephanie Gayle has been upped on VH1’s “Love & Hip Hop” franchise. The announcement was made Wednesday by Monami Entertainment founder and CEO Mona Scott-Young, to whom Gayle will report.
In her new position, Gayle will serve as the overall exec producer for all series installments — “Love & Hip Hop: New York,” “Atlanta,” “Hollywood” — plus related series “Chrissy & Mr. Jones” and “K. Michelle: My Life.” She will also exec produce reunion shows and specials.
“Stephanie has been instrumental in the success of our ‘Love & Hip Hop’ franchise since its inception,” said Scott-Young. “To put her in the role of overall executive producer for the franchise will enable us to take full advantage of the successful programming we’ve created for VH1, to ensure the continued success of each ‘Love & Hip Hop’ series and subsequent spinoffs and to prepare for even greater franchise expansion.”
Prior to the promotion, Gayle has served as supervising producer, co-exec producer, exec producer and showrunner on various series within the “Love & Hip Hop” franchise.
Previously, she spent a decade at Columbia Records where she served as VP of marketing. She also headed the marketing department at Sanctuary Urban Records. Gayle’s career in entertainment began in the A&R department at Geffen Records, and throughout her music career, she worked with Lauryn Hill, Wyclef Jean, Destiny’s Child and Beyonce, whose L’oreal Paris campaign she also oversaw, while working at Wilhelmina Models.
The “Love & Hip Hop” franchise, which reached over 100 hours of programming in 2014, is co-produced for VH1 by Monami and Eastern.
