Reviews Summary
This summary was created by AI, based on recent reviews.

Harbour Grand Hong Kong stands out for its central location, with guests frequently applauding its proximity to local dining, the MTR, and breathtaking scenic views. The hotel's amenities, especially the dining options and the harbor view rooms, are often celebrated, and the service is generally lauded for its professionalism and friendliness. However, opinions on value are mixed, as some find certain aspects overpriced. While the atmosphere is considered luxurious by many, some guests feel that the rooms can appear outdated. Cleanliness receives high marks, though it is not without its occasional criticisms.

Stayed in the suite for 2 1/2 months as my home was under renovation. Location of the hotel was very convenient with just 2 minutes walk to the MTR. There were also lots of restaurants nearby. The suite was around 700 square feet with a twin bedroom, living and dining area besides an open kitchen. The harbour view was about 230 degrees and really beautiful. Rental charges had to be on a monthly basis initially with dining credits rebate. Thereafter can extend the stay on a shorter term basis but without any dining rebate. Although housekeeping was every Monday, Wednesday and Friday, they could be called to collect the garbage and change the towels whenever necessary. The short-coming with their open kitchen was lack of a rice cooker, frying pan cover and a rather small boiling pot. As we cooked normal meals daily like cooking at home, I almost brought over 1/3 of my kitchen utensils and various kinds of seasonings to the hotel. We also found the freezer of the in-room refrigerator not cold enough and microwave difficult to set the function. Housekeeping was very helpful in providing us the third refrigerator and another microwave. Management basically tried their best to satisfy all our needs. Guests could use the swimming pool as well as the gym.

There were several restaurants and Le 188 on the top floor offered the most spectacular view. Quality of food and services were good in all their restaurants except the Japanese restaurant which quality of wagyu beef had room for improvement. Price of the Udon set was quite high as well.

There were several kinds of promotional offers for their Harbour Grand Cafe buffet but the staff who answered the phone wasn’t too helpful and clear with their instructions. I was being told had to secure a table before booking & paying on-line. However, after booking the table, I failed to locate the right promotional offer until seeking help from the Sales officer Coco who was very helpful throughout our stay. That evening a staff called from the Café and asked why we had not paid for our reservation. I replied I wasn’t aware I had to pay immediately after reservation and I wasn’t told I had to call them back to secure the booking after payment. Initially I thought only one staff who answered the phone at this café wasn’t too polite but it turned out not to be the case. Anyway, we had buffet three times and think it was ok. For the first time they had raw oysters (restricted to 2 pieces per queuing) and crab legs but second time onwards they replaced raw oysters with abalone. It was always full house and reservation is a must.

Besides Coco and Raymond from the Sales Office, housekeeping Ms Chong and concierge Kathrine had all been very kind and helpful during our enjoyable stay in this hotel.

We have visited Hong Kong many times but always stayed in Kowloon in the past however on our recent tour of Far East the best flight offer from Europe was through HK and for something different we choose to stay on Hong Kong island itself and the club rooms at Harbour Grand offered us what we were looking for and certainly did not disappoint. The transfer from the airport was easy with octopus cards easily acquired as you left the arrival hall and the shuttle bus to Fortress Hill area leaves every 20 minutes from right by the airport express train terminal.
The service level from the club room staff on the 42 floor was great and the little snacks and other food were tasty. The view from there over the harbour was fabulous and you can access the roof top viewpoint by a short flight of stairs.
Our room was on the 36th floor which offered continuously changing views of the harbour and the curtains were dark enough to block out the neon light from the various buildings. The only odd element was the large circular bath, which I am sure less physically able individuals might struggle with.
We ate at the restaurant one evening but in some ways the breakfast in the same location seemed better as the daylight allowed the vista to take centre stage.
This is certainly a hotel we will use again

We stayed here for 4 nights and were very impressed. The hotel is beautiful and our room (which was a standard room) on the 20th floor was spacious for Hong Kong. The bathroom was lovely with the enormous round bath and rain shower. We stayed with my daughter who had a very comfortable fold up bed installed. As light sleepers we were a little concerned having a room adjacent to the lifts but we did not need to be worried- the sound proofing in the rooms is excellent and similarly the curtains work well. We ate breakfast at the cafe on level 3 and this was fine. The viewing deck at the top of the hotel was amazing. You can see the whole of Hong Kong, the harbour and over to Kowloon - really spectacular. It is also in a super convenient area that at least while we were there did not seem to be affected by protests. Nearby we found good restaurants, a supermarket right next to the MTR station, and a money exchange with the best rates we’d seen. The MTR and other transport all close by. The staff everywhere (reception, cafe, concierge) all so polite and helpful and housekeeping was probably one of the best I’ve seen in a hotel. Thanks to the hotel management for a great stay - we would definitely stay again if in Hong Kong.

This was our third visit to this hotel and while we accept that travelling at a time of the current fears of corona virus is not ideal we still looked forward to the level of service this hotel had always offered. We were met at reception not with a welcome smile ( even behind the masks) but with a temperature gauge and a barrage of forms about our health. We then discovered that due to renovations the pool area and spa were closed as was the spectacular top floor lounge which was temporarily downstairs
This despite paying extra for lounge facilities !
We still received food and drink but not to the same level as buffet was banned due to the virus. Breakfast in the grand dining room was a joke! We were the only people in both mornings we were there and food was cold by the time it came from the kitchen in fact the whole hotel was freezing and we had to go to our room for warmth!
When we went out we were given masks but told only one a day which is wrong as medical advice is to change them every couple of hours and our temperature was taken every time we entered or left the hotel, we felt more like patients in a care home than guests in a hotel .
We were so happy to leave and arrive in the Bangkok which while it too has corona virus was welcoming and full of life , while we fully understand the difficulties in Hong Kong I think the least they should do is reduce the room rate as the facilities you are paying a lot of money for are not there! Provide room service free as all dining areas and social areas are cold and deserted or just close temporarily if you can’t provide services and have renovations going on everywhere- our room overlooked a building site that used to be the lovely roof top pool
What a sad last memory we now have of what used to be one of our favourite hotels.

Dear HollySK Thank you for taking the time to share your review with us. We appreciate your patronage and are disappointed to read that your recent experience was not up to your expectations. However, upon reviewing all the points you have mentioned and found several discrepancies to our hotel facility and services provision for example the only venue we are serving breakfast at the moment is instead on our top floor Le188 Restaurant & Lounge and we do not have a roof top swimming pool etc. May I humbly ask you to review whether you have posted the review to a different hotel property and make necessary adjustments. Otherwise I am eager to hear more from you and would appreciate if you could reach out to me directly via garyc2@harbourgrand.com so that I can personally follow up all matters you reflected. Thank you again and we look forward to hearing from you. Kind regards, Gary Chong / Director of Guest Services Harbour Grand Hong Kong 23, Oil Street, North Point, Hong Kong

It was a great experience to stay at the Harbour Grand Hong Kong for a weekend staycation with friendly staffs and up to standard facilities.

The check in process was smooth when we arrived at around 14:00. The mist disinfection station (for whole body) at the lobby ensured everyone to keep hygiene when entering the premise. Many thanks to Front Office agent Helen for the warm welcome and kind assistance during our check in.

All rooms are equipped with bathtub. A glass wall separates the room and washroom (a curtain can be lowered) which makes the room feels large and comfortable. HDMI was equipped on the 32' LCD TV so you can grab your TV Box here to enjoy a Movie marathon. A harbour view room was arranged for our stay which can clearly see the skyline of Kowloon.

We have visited the gym and swimming pool as per recommendation from Helen. Which was also clean with relaxing environment. It was great to grab a book and sit in one of the poolside hut for reading in the late afternoon.

The drink at Le188 Restaurant was also nice with superb view of the Victoria Harbour. Thanks for the kind assistance from the friendly team at the restaurant and introduction to the stunning and unique Victoria Harbour view (in which we can see the IFC & ICC buildings from a new angle)

In general it was a pleasant stay and we shall be back soon in the future!

Stayed here end of January 2020 did upgrade to club harbour cost only 160 Euros for 2 of us for 5 nights. Well worth it access to club harbour room with spectacular views over Victoria harbour and free nibbles drink. Staff friendly and very efficient service high standard. Had Dim Sum for breakfast delicious overall breakfast standard excellent. Close to Fortress Hill MTR but on last day we did some exploring lovely park nearby and able to walk to other local attractions. Would like to mention Mr Ken in buffet restaurant we went in late but he kept it open an extra half hour for us and ensured we had enough to eat and when offered tip declined saying it was his pleasure. Did leave tip for housekeeping and bell boys. Overall would highly recommend this hotel but would say that they do take off deposit from your bank card did have the money but 3 days later but it was 350 Euro.

Grand Harbour is a large and nice property in the North Point area of the city. They are presently offering really attractive room rates and staycation promotions during the pandemic. We recently took advantage of these deals and stayed a few nights at this hotel.

Reservation was made by way of booking.com. Room confirmation was received immediately. We were well-received upon checkin, which as a bit of a lengthy process given the number of locals checking in on the day.

The property is pretty nice. It has subtle art nouveau features built into the building decor, lobby area is large, they have pool, gym and feature restaurants. We had drinks at the Le 188 lounge and very much enjoy the views on the evening.

Rooms are pretty good for the present rates being offered. They are spacious with decent decor, all expected amenities and features, comfy bed, good A/C, wifi and lighting. Rooms only have two electric outlets and one at the desk is not fitted for Apple computer plugs which was an issue. Bathroom is spacious with bath and shower setup. Overall, fair enough rooms for this calibre of a hotel.

Location is ok if you don't mind staying in a more local neighbour area of Fortress Hill and North Point instead of the more popular tourist districts like nearby Causeway Bay. There are a handful of speciality coffee shops, cafes and plenty of restaurants in the area. You are around 5 minute walk to the Fortress Hill hotel as well.

Particular to enjoy the stunning harbour view on Skyline Pavilion, breakfast on the rooftop and the delicious on-suite dining. Just 3 minutes walk to the MTR, makes shopping much convenient in Causeway Bay.

Thanks Reservations Agent Caroline offered the Sparkling Juice knowing that we don't drink wine for the birthday celebration. Thanks Room Service team and special compliments to Ivan friendly and helpful service on the private dining. Thanks Housekeeping Ms Hung for keeping us a neat and tidy room.

Harbour Grand gives us sense of protection from the time stepping in the entrance, every guest is sanitized by the machine to their full body. Mask keeper & sanitizing paper is available in every table in the restaurants.

This second stay in their room with Patio is worth the value to stay cozy and warm in the Jacuzzi for some small talk before bed. Day and night accompanied with the quiet 🤫 next door,
ocean scenery in the Patio is kind of privileged.

Price performance was top notch, really good for its price. One is paying a fraction of likes of Rosewood, St Regis, Ritz prices so need to be fair. The staff tries very hard and would always go the extra mile to ensure guests are enjoying their stay. Doormen have high awareness with guests going in and out and opening door to welcome / wishing guests a safe journey with a smile. Great (fun!) whole body sanitising procedure at front door too.

Gary Chong - very responsive to enquires and quick turnaround times (well done!) and I can imagine hotels are probably short staffed and experiencing such challenges. I can feel the team do try their best to pull things together and riding through this wave together. All the best!

Highlight for me were: Le188 the view and service; Kwan Cheuk Hin (the Cantonese dim sum place) with its delicious dim sum and food! View was also fantastic and food was ready to surprise and delight.

We spent 6 incredible nights at the harbour grand to start our honeymoon.
Omg - what an amazing hotel with hard workers who are constantly asking if we needed anything.
We upgraded to the club rooms which had us on the higher levels of the hotel, breakfast at Le 188 every morning which had the most beautiful sky view of the city, daily afternoon snacks and cocktails which was a bonus.
With all the protests that we had seen on TV you would not have even knew. Please book to see Hong Kong it is an incredible place, with lovely locals who need us back. We would not hesitate to stay at the harbour grand again
