Better than Episode 9, and that's about the only nice thing I have to say about it. The story arc of the prequel trilogy would be left untouched if this film disappeared from the face of the earth. Lucas needed to put half the complexity of Portman's wardrobe into Anakin's developing character. There's a disconnect between the lovable Jake Owen and the tyrannical figure he'd later become, and it's not Episode 2's Anakin.

Just like The Phantom Menace, this has aged quite well. The opening scenes on Coruscant are quite good. But then it splits in two. Anakin & Padme’s romance is some of the worst Star Wars to date (but it’s still better than the Sequel Trilogy). It feels unnatural and forced. But that’s not the fault of Hayden Christensen and Natalie Portman. Although sand is coarse, rough and irritating. But what Obi-Wan Kenobi was doing for this whole movie was great. I loved going to Kamino then discovering Geonosis. Which is when the movie gets the strongest. Everything on Geonosis was fantastic. This movie also introduced Count Dooku (or Darth Tyrannus), who is an absolutely phenomenal villain. Overall, this may have a terrible romance side plot, but Obi-Wan’s adventures and everything on Geonosis definitely carry this movie. 6/10

Attack of the Clones suffers greatly from wooden dialogue and Lucas' questionable direction. There's still enjoyable stuff in here and the creativity on display is weirdly refreshing in the context of the newer Star Wars projects' lack thereof.

His characters, as is now his norm, are plastic puppets, even in the confectionary love scenes. Most of their dialogue is so doughy that it could be spooned into comic-strip balloons. Lucas simply has no interest in these people.
