STANFORD, Calif. – Kyle Smith, the Anne and Tony Joseph Director of Men's Basketball, has announced the addition of Jeremy Harden as the program's assistant coach and director of analytics.
"Jeremy was instrumental in the development of our bigs and our team's rebounding at Washington State," said Smith. "He is also going to amplify our scouting and recruiting with his cutting edge understanding of analytics and technology."
Harden joined the Washington State staff under Smith for the 2023-24 campaign, helping guide the Cougars to a 25-10 mark and second-place finish in the Pac-12 in 2023-24. The Cougars received a No. 7 seed in the NCAA Tournament, advancing to the round of 32 with a victory over Drake in the opening round.
The Cougars had three players earn All-Pac-12 status in 2023-24, led by first-team selection Isaac Jones, who also earned ESPN National Player of the Week honors, and freshman All-American Myles Rice. Harden was instrumental in the recruitment and development of Jones.
Joining the Cardinal with more than a decade of coaching experience, Harden spent one season at Idaho and five seasons as the head coach at Wenatchee Valley College from 2017-22.
Harden led the Knights to an impressive 95-35 (.730) overall record and five consecutive winning seasons, including a Northwest Athletic Conference (NWAC) East Region title and an NWAC Final Four appearance in 2021-22. Harden was named East Region Coach of the Year while the team held the best regional record (15-1) and was the No. 1 scoring offense (93.1 PPG). He claimed his first NWAC Region title in 2021, as his team finished 11-2 in region play, while his 2019 team included WVS's first postseason appearance in four years. He coached consecutive NWAC scoring champions - Justin Martin (2018) and Malik Parsons (2019) - and would go on to coach a third in Isaac Jones (2022).
Prior to his stint at WVC, Harden was an assistant at Tohono O'odham Community College in 2016-17, and he spent three seasons as the director of player development at Boise State (2013-16) under head coach Leon Rice. Harden helped lead the Broncos to their first Mountain West Conference Championship in 2015 and an appearance in the NCAA Tournament.
Harden made his college coaching debut in 2012, serving one season as an assistant at Eastern Oregon University. The Mountaineers tallied a 28-5 record and received their first No. 1 ranking in program history. EOU went on to win the Cascade Collegiate Conference championship and earn a berth in the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA) national tournament.
A Tucson, Arizona native, Harden played for two seasons at Pima Community College. He was a two-year starter and led the Aztecs to their first National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) Region Championship, along with a No. 7 overall finish at the 2010 NJCAA National Championships.
A graduate from Eastern Oregon University with a master's degree in business administration in 2016, Harden received a bachelor's degree in communications at the University of Arizona in 2012.
