My confusion and frustration with this wonderful band's back catalogue continues! Thanks to an IMWAN member Bill J., I was informed that these 3 albums are being reissued (not sure about remastering) by Wounded Bird.
Now here's the kicker:
These DO include bonus tracks! Not much earth shattering, but they're there. Yet, it's not every album from this era. Also, why is Found All The Parts attached to Busted of all things, and why at all since it was on the All Shook Up remaster? Also, where's Lap Of Luxury? And, I assume they aren't doing One On One and Next Position Please, so the only way to get those is the crappy Friday Music two-fer which apparantly IS NOT remastered according to people on Amazon.com and has typos and no bonus tracks.
So, the only way to get them is that route, although I'm sure the sound still has to be good from Friday.
I've never had problems with any Wounded Bird release I've purchased, but some have. Still, since I haven't I'm not worried about that.
Now, Friday is supposedly going to do more two-fers of Standing On The Edge and The Doctor which I won't have to get, but to get Lap Of Luxury you'd have to get the Lap Of Luxury/Busted two-fer. But, to get the bonus tracks on Busted you'd go the Wounded Bird route and that does have an absolute rarity. Now my head really hurts! This is so damn stupid and it's proof that Legacy sucks weasel nuts-the small kind.

You're right, IP -- this makes no sense whatsoever.

Found All The Parts / Busted??? Yeah, that makes sense. They were only released ten years apart. One is from the original era and the other from the era where some of the material was written by outside songwriters.

It almost makes me not want to buy anything until the dust has settled and we can see what reissue has what on it.

I'll pass on Wounded Birds unless they remaster inwhich normally they do not. Friday Music does and I enjoyed the recent CT two-fer. Beats the Arcadia set which I traded in.

Rick:
Some on Amazon are saying Friday Music did not remaster the new two-fer. I don't know who to believe, but can you say it sounds any different? It's lame there's none of the cassette bonus tracks from NPP and beyond lame that the liner notes as brief as they are mislabeled Jon Brandt's name.
I'll still probably get this but only if nothing else is available.

Hey IP, that's lame that Friday Music didn't get the Jon's name right. No excuse, but the sound is better as I noted. If you find it at a price that is acceptable you will be OK with it.

Now I'm back to Deep Purple's Singles & EP's that I received from Amazon UK today.

The "Found All the Parts" EP is currently available on the Epic "All Shook Up" remaster, so this makes absolutely no sense to package it on anther label with "Busted" of all things. File this one under WTF? My experience is that Wounded Bird makes a nice sounding CD if you like yours flat like a 1985 catalog release. Too bad Friday's Music isn't doing the remaining CT titles as two-fers. Epic/Legacy have bailed on so many back catalogs that it started on, what a shame. I'm convinced all of the major labels are now in the hands of morons.

It's been that way for a long time. It's just becoming a more pronounced case these days. :sigh:

Not more pronounced - they've just gotten rid of all the PR hacks who spun their screw-ups in years past.

Couple of things:
I already mentioned Found All The Parts being on All Shook Up so we agree this is stupid.
But, Friday Music IS doing two more two-fers, but two-fers suck. Still, it's the best way to go probably, maybe this time they'll get the liner notes right.
And, I've railed against Legacy so much I'm out of breath. They just gave up in caring about what they were doing. Instead we get endless recycling of poorly conceived 2 and 3 CD best-ofs.
Also, isn't it WTF?

Perhaps WFT is a more appropriate acronym - implying extra confusion over the situation!

The release date for these is now May 18th according to Amazon.

I'll wait for the Friday twofers, having had a satisfactory experience with the One On One / Next Position, Please CD.
