This was an excellent college prep school which has really prepared me for attending college. The education is top notch, and therefore challenging. There are many opportunities to join extra-curricular activities, academic, athletic, and others.
I feel extremely prepared for the coming academic challenges of my life. The workload was an extravagant amount of pressure and stress on me.
It is a great school with many programs and opportunities for the future. The school also offers a very planned out and helping college readiness program that prepares students for the future
The best high school to go to be prepared for college. Very challenging program . Teachers and counselors are helpful
This school is exceptional for college prep. The work is tedious, and requires lots of hard work and dedication. As a student, I wish we were treated more as humans, who need reassurance and words of positive affirmation to continue working this hard throughout all four years of highs cool. Things like student activities, and even just bonding with the teachers on a personal level would create such a big change in student motivation.
Good experience, lots of tests/quizzes. Overall would say best school in Staten Island. Facilities and student resources are great.
I am a 17 year old high school student with a passion for student government, sports and community involvement. In addition, I excel in track and field. I regularly volunteer for a local charity and its events. I use my leadership skills as Vice President of my student body, making a positive impact on my campus. Thus far, this has been the best part of my experience.
I would like to see more resources directed to mental health support. The well being of a student is always a concern, so counseling services and stress management would be beneficial. I would also like to see more initiatives toward diversity and inclusion, where our school can create a more inclusive environment celebrating different cultures and backgrounds.

Saint Joseph by the Sea is a very safe and beautiful environment! The teachers are always willing to help you.
Being a part of the St. Joseph family was a wonderful experience that I will never forget. From freshman orientation to graduation I was always welcomed.
It was nice experience and very friendly school

My experience at St. Joseph by the Sea has overall been very well. Due to Covid, my first two years at this school were not the same as they should be, but Sea did their best to accommodate what everyone wanted. They truly prepare you for college with how they test and teach. At times, it is difficult, but I would not want any other experience. I really grew as a person at sea and learned to my biggest potential. They have so many clubs and activities for anyone that is looking, and they even give you the opportunity to create one if you wanted to. They have so many resources for everyone, especially if you are struggling. There is a peer tutoring program that I actually volunteer with, and many students join when they need help with a certain subject. Along with academics, Sea makes sure that you have a good time outside of school with their sports events. Overall, I really recommend sea and my high school experience was well worth it.
Sea is one of the top schools on Staten Island and is extremely competitive. While most teachers are extremely helpful and willing to offer their guidance some are not the same. Overall Sea is a great environment and offers a great experience to get prepared for college.
I received an amazing education at this school, and I was part of a great choral and theatre program.
My daughters experience at St. Joe's was wonderful. It is academically challenging and concentrates on preparing students for college. Most teachers are involved and care about the students. Administration did a good job throughout COVID considering the circumstances. Facilities for the students are amazing.
This is a good school. The teachers are good, the classes are good, the food is good, but you may not get as much of a high school experience as you want. No senior trips, barely any fun senior or underclassmen activities, and a very serious atmosphere. Many, many exams and hard work is required to do well. All in all, this school gives an education that makes the tuition worth it. I felt prepared for college.
St. Joseph by-the-Sea is a great school to receive an excellent high-quality Catholic education. There is a variety of clubs and sports for both girls and boys as well as many other after school amenities provided at the new student center building. The only reason why I give it four stars rather than five is because it became overwhelming at times to prepare for the amount of tests that were given each week. However, it has prepped me well for remembering information and taking in new knowledge.
This school is not very welcoming. During open houses and tours definitely, but a totally different tone in reality. They sell you in the beginning to commit. Afterwards, I never had the feeling that they truly care. It’s all about the school’s numbers, grades, and scholarship money. The school’s goal seems to be to “look good”, not really be a good school girl their students. The guidance for young males and females to find their passion and strive for success is lacking. Everyone is expected to portray a certain appearance and behavior which is great for discipline. However, the school is lacking individuality. It is also very behind in believing wearing a skirt is the only way for a female to look professional. Total disregard for girls traveling in brisk weather in the winter. There is a lot of gender bias at this school which is so surprising in 2021!
