Need help choosing a college (Stony vs St Johns)

I know this is pretty late, so I'm sorry about that, but I'm pretty stressed with choosing a college. So for background, I want to be on a pre-pa track, with aspirations to be a pa. Now the colleges I'm torn on is SJU and SBU. For me, the tuition is almost the same, so money isn't really a factor in decision making. The major factor for me is the education. I also live in Queens right now, so that may also be a factor.

St John's:

So for St John's, I'm probably going to choose a major between biochemistry or clinical lab. I feel like the pros of St Johns is the closeness of the university. However, I feel like (I may be wrong) there are less opportunities for pre med/pre pa students with less connections and volunteering opportunities.

Stony Brook:

With Stony Brook, I feel like pre-med is one of the biggest things at Stony, so I'll definitely have classmate connections all around, as well as the hospital at the campus allowing more accessible volunteer experience. However, one major factor for me that I'm unsure of, is how rigorous it is, with what seems like grade deflation is what I heard from some people. With me being such an average student, the last thing I want is to not have a competitive gpa. Also, the major I'm choosing at Stony Brook is most likely going to be clinical lab science.

I feel pretty stuck and stressed right now, as my decision is going to have to be made soon. Also, if anyone is wondering why clinical lab science is a potential chosen major for me, is served as a plan B if I don't make it into PA school, so I would have a job if worse comes to worse. To be honest, I don't even know if this would be the "correct" thing to do, but honestly I feel like I need some sort of guidance because I've done all this thinking on my own and I feel like I just need some sort of reassurance.

Thank you!
