No matter what form of park/garden space you like, you will find it here. Formal European Gardens, a Rose Garden, a serene Japanese Garden, a Tropical Conservatory, Perennial Gardens, etc. etc. And it is all tucked in a quiet neighborhood on the South side of the city. Spend some time watching the ducks on the pond, or strolling the hilly areas. Our favorite stop in Spokane.

Wonderful place to visit and a pleasant walk. The falls are awesome to see and hear. The park was well-kept and seemingly safe. Lots of people enjoying the park and the surrounding area. It is obvious that lots of time and effort was put into maintaining the park and surrounding area.

as it is with many waterfalls, spring is the best time to visit. the water volume is impressive.

but what is painful about the visit is the accessibility. currently, there are road construction here and there around spokane. so, you cant drive / park / walk as easily. for example, post street bridge is now closed to traffic.

anyway, after meandering about, i finally did the following

    1. upper falls
    - park here 47.664479, -117.423571 . then walk down to canada island

    2. lower falls
    - park here 47.660833, -117.423509 . then walk down to huntington park. you will see gondolas plying above you and across the river. another viewpoint is from monroe street bridge, but there is no parking at the bridge, so you need to walk to the bridge

both areas indicated above are paid parking.
#1 can be paid by quarters and mobile.
#2 can only be paid by mobile.

Nice bike trail also good for walking and hiking. Other than occasional homeless encampments, the trail is pretty well maintained.

Saw the Mountain Goats here. The theatre is beautiful and the staff are well trained and very friendly. The acoustics aren't great for rock music. I actually didn't recognize several songs I knew because the sound tops out and the lyrics are hard to understand except during the solo, acoustic set.

What makes this good size town stand out, is the location on the beautiful Spokane river. Many walking trails along the river, and very dramatic waterfalls.

What a wonderful winery experience! If you are in the area or just want to stop for a glass of wine, this is the place! A beautiful refurbished factory w a lovely indoor and outdoor space to sample wines. We enjoyed our samples and most of all the lovely Eileen! Thank you for sharing the history of the area as well as the winery and wines. We received a tour of the building as well. What a great experience, highly recommend!

We visited during their exhibit on DreamWorks Animation. The museum is not very large, but exhibits were all very well done. In addition to the major exhibit, they had smaller exhibits on Native American canoes, and on historic flour sacks (far more interesting than it sounds!).

We toured the campus and had the opportunity to speak with several students. We were very impressed! Beautiful art installations and a serene open grotto area for prayer.

Fun night at the ballpark, although the Spokane Indians lost the game. (They'll get 'em next time.) Tons of local support from the community. The ballpark food (hotdogs, peanuts and ice cream) was good. Nice to see the partnership between the local Native American tribes and the team. The between inning games were silly and fun. Loved "Ribby the Redband Trout" team mascot and his funny (spawning?) dance!
