      What to Know

      Critics Consensus

Splitting Up Together tries to make light of divorce, but its commitment to genre tropes keeps it from being very fun or funny, despite the always charming Jenna Fischer's best efforts.

Robert Lloyd Los Angeles Times Best of all is [Jenna] Fischer, who was the normal soul of The Office and has a satisfying way of commanding attention without asking for it, of seeming not to act, which is of course ... acting. Mar 29, 2018 Full Review Jen Chaney New York Magazine/Vulture It's a fantasy version of divorce. I tried, but I just can't commit to it. Mar 29, 2018 Full Review Caroline Framke Vox As Fischer ably proves, she's been long overdue her own spotlight, so she's gonna make the most of what she gets. Rated: 3/5 Mar 28, 2018 Full Review Calum Henderson New Zealand Herald This is what happens when you try to adapt something remotely edgy for a network (ABC in the US) and timeslot that requires not only bleeping out the F-word put pixelating the swearee's mouth when they say it. Apr 23, 2018 Full Review Ashley Bulayo The Young Folks Of course, each show needs to find its niche, but there are some shows that will make you want more and Splitting Up Together isn't one of these shows yet as it still hasn't found its footing. Rated: 5/10 Apr 2, 2018 Full Review Kimberly Roots TV Line Consider it conscious uncoupling for the somewhat financially strapped set. Mar 29, 2018 Full Review Read all reviews

Audience Member The only positive thing I can say is that I absolutely want to live in their Craftsman house. Has anyone else who's watched this show wondered what it would take to get such a house? Because for whatever problems Lena and Martin have, they seem to spend virtually no time working. Rated 1.5 out of 5 stars 01/09/23 Full Review Audience Member Cute show! Hopefully ABC doesn't cancel it so flippantly and they give it a chance to gain its footing. Rated 4 out of 5 stars 01/09/23 Full Review Audience Member This is an experience. I really love the show and the though in it. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 01/09/23 Full Review Audience Member Quirky fun. I actually don't think it would be quite as good without Oliver Hudson and Jenna Fisher. Rated 4.5 out of 5 stars 01/09/23 Full Review Audience Member I love this show so far and can't wait for the next season. I love the story of making light of people divorcing. The writing and story's bare hilarious. The cast are hilarious and stupendous especially Oliver Hudson and Jenna Fischer.
