I have really enjoyed going to southwest and my time there was extremely valuable and rewarding. The fine arts department is outstanding with wonderful staff and the marching band is a consistent state runner up and boa finalist which is impressive for our size. Our sports teams and debate team bring home state trophy’s frequently and we have a variety of sports and clubs to join. Overall, a really amazing school barely any bullying or social issues unlike other BV schools and I wouldn’t have gone anywhere else.
I love SW. Just wish there was another middle school feeder. Many other schools have multiple feeders that make their school bigger and have more diversity rather than just having one feeder.
Blue Valley Southwest has done an exceeding job at educating me these past four years. I have been thoroughly prepared through their courses to further my future. With their numerous opportunities to explore multiple careers. I have been blessed enough to explore different courses they offer such as; culinary arts, photography, journalism, ceramics, and many more.
The community at BVSW is only getting better. Clubs and organization ran by the student body bring people (within the school and surrounding community) together through activities and functions. These functions spread awareness to all sorts of cultures, and invite people of all kinds to learn traditions with religions. My experience with BVSW has has been in a tremendous incline ever since regulations due to Covid were let up. I'm involved in many activities through my school (National Honors Societies, community service clubs, female empowerment, religious, and ethnicity clubs) that have introduced me to people who share similar beliefs with me. The administration and staff do their best to accommodate the needs of the individuals within the building, which is what the student body highly appreciates. They also mitigate disputes between individuals when arguments arize to keep the rest of the student body safe. It's a community where everyone pitches in to protect the pack.
I'm in my senior year at Blue Valley Southwest High School. I have gone to Southwest for four years and I have loved every second of being here. This school has helped me prepare for my future and become a studious person. The people I have met and learned from have made my experience at Southwest so much better. I had multiple chances to change what school I attended over the years and I am so happy that I chose to stay at Southwest to continue my studies and grow my relationships with my peers and teachers. Overall, I don't think another school could have educated and helped me grow into the person I am today.
The school counselors truly care and are involved with the students. They help the students feel comfortable so they are willing to come speak to them.
The requested courses are taking into consideration with their class schedules, which helps the students stay engaged and wanting to attend classes.

Blue valley southwest is a relatively good school. The main issue is that there is only one middle school feeding into the high school meaning that there isn’t a lot of diversity within the different groups pre-established in middle school. As for academics, the social studies department is very good. English is relative okay depending on your teacher. As for math there has been a lot of fluctuation in staffing due to teacher going on maternity leave. The science could honestly be better many of the teachers are smart but some can be passive aggressive.
BVSW is a beautiful school with beautiful facilities-- lots of windows. A lot of the teachers/staff are committed to student's learning, but there are always exceptions. It's difficult to access counselor services, and the pass system, windows policy (late-work policy) don't benefit students in the long-term. Additionally, because BVSW is the newest, and subsequent smallest school in the district, there is less flexibility on class-times. Many elective classes, especially in the arts/music/journalism, are only offered one period, so it can be difficult to take art classes and high level honors/AP.
BVSW is a very modern and new school with plenty of amazing resources available for the students. The staff are amazing, especially the advisors who are there to help students through the process of graduation, picking a college, and getting the financial support they need for higher education. The diversity is very, very low. When I went to school here, we were 97% white. The sports are decent, the clubs are okay, and the music and arts are off the charts levels of impressive. Debate is a big thing at BVSW as well. Great school overall, would recommend!
I would like the school to be inclusive of everyone as some students may be seen left alone in group activities. I think Blue Valley Southwest High School can improve the quality of teachers as some teachers are biased and racist and think flipped learning is beneficial, making coursework be really tough to learn on your own and catchup on your own with homework. Some great memories I have had is with our school traditions, participating in sorts as a player and a manager, and the relationships I have created with teachers and clubs I got to be apart of.
I though going to school at Blue Valley Southwest High School prepared me well for college. I took classes that transferred my credits to my university, so I was able to enter at a sophomore level in college. The school spirit was always high and the surrounding community was alway involved. There are different clubs and activities that are accessible to any student. The teachers make an effort to connect with their students and help them succeed. I would like to see a better delegation of money being put towards the school. For example, money should be put towards the school building and it's appliances rather than the football or baseball fields.
Blue valley Southwest has been a great school, It is a very safe environment and we are all a community. The teachers are great and help us whenever we need help, even if that is before or after school. We have a fantastic music department with the band getting 4th place at a national competition last year. Overall it is a really good school, The only thing that I would change would be adding another middle school to feed into it. At the moment there is only one middle school that goes to Southwest.
I believe Southwest is a great school, with enough variety in classes to challenge and teach students. Most of the staff is very genuine and seriously tries connecting with students which is important. Every year, there is a large number of new teachers, which can possibly ruin someone's grades if they are unlucky enough to get a new teacher that isn't great. The school is generally clean and very nice for a high school. The people and how they act is the only downside. If you are lucky to find good, genuine friends, it makes the experience so much better.
I went to Blue Valley Southwest for all four years of my high school career and I wouldn’t trade it for anything. All of my teachers were great. Helping me when I needed and making actual connections that I still have today. I was a part of the wrestling team and was team captain for two years. Those guys have become my family and I still talk to most of them today. All of my administrators were helpful in planning my college career and I am on a great path because of it. I have loved my time there.
I overall really enjoy Blue Valley Southwest. It has a welcoming environment and everyone is super including. I have had a great time and am super happy with my experience so far.
It's a great academic school that thoroughly prepares its students for college and beyond. The teachers are top notch and the curriculum provides each student with the ability to pursue their own interests of study.
All the teachers I had always put the success of the students first which should be an obvious thing to do, but not many teachers put effort towards it.
