the song, something so strong is really great. Nice vocals and sizzling guitar solo. The rest of it falls short of that song. I actually only like one other song. But its worth getting for the two great songs.

The best thing about a Jim Capaldi album is a chance to get to hear some of the best drumming in rock music. What I didn't know was the quality of singer that he was. And he is that, a very good vocalist. Jim has some pretty good people on this album."You Are The One" opens the set and right off the bat the drum work between Jim and his bass man, Peter Vale is there. Eric Clapton comes along as a sideman who plays a very nice but you can hardly here it. The one thing present throughout the album is some of the nicest drum and bass work. Special guests on this session include Eric Clapton, Mick Ralphs, and on "Oh Lord, Why Lord you get George Harrison and Eric Clapton. On "Some Came Running" you're treated to Steve Winwood on keyboards and vocals, just like in the days of Traffic when the two of them played together. This is not a classic album nor will it ever go down in history as anything but a nice album with a lot of good music by a bunch of very talented players. I am very happy to have this album back in my collection again. It's always nice to listen to. I hope you find it so when you purchase it. " Some Came Running" by Jim Capaldi is worth at least three Stars. Michael

I taped Something So Strong in 1987 from a good rock local radio station. Then I listened it so many times in my car. It has been so strong since this time. I searched everywhere asking disk jockey to find who wrote this so song. I digitalized it from tape and putted it on a web page in 1996. In january 2003 someone sent me the mp3 file by email. Something got wrong to play it on my old 166MMX. I forgotted to get back to it and got a new computer since. Tonight on january 18th 2006, I saw this file in a deep music directory and played it. Something So Strong Burned Inside Me and after 18 years, I found it. I'm actually ordering it and can tell you it's a great day for me to finally find it and get it into my music collection. In a life there's a few songs that play and never getting tired of. This song is one of this kind for me. You may get it and listen it in your car a few times and you will feel the way you goes on and play it so many times. It's Something So Strong! There's no better comment for an album. I'll discover the other songs and for me Something So Strong makes the album in itself. Many times, there's other good songs when you know just one. This one a a good gage of the artist. For me the excellence of this album is an evidence.

Jim Capaldi is one of the worlds most underappreciated music artists. His songs are easily up there with many of rock's biggest stars. Of his albums, Some Come Running is the best. In my opinion, it is one of the finest 80's rock albums ever. It has a solid upbeat tone set into motion by "Something So Strong" in the beginning of the CD, followed by a variety of other 80s style songs. Most of it has a fast beat and is great for working out to or exercising. For the widely most popular song on the CD, "Something So Strong", imagine "Eye of the Tiger" with different, more rock style. You may have also heard this song playing in the end credits for the 80s martial arts movie, Best of the Best. Also in note of mentioning is the second track, "Love Used to be a Friend of Mine", which is a work of art. It's based on love, a reoccuring theme in many of his albums and songs. If you like 80s rock with a good upbeat sound and enticing lyrics, Jim Capaldi is your man. No better place to start than with his best CD, "Some Come Running".

Stay away from this record/CD, as Capaldi himself should have stayed away from the idea to record this canned, fast-food of a CD. I've should have known better, rockers do not age well.

2.0 out of 5 stars Some Come Running - Jim Capaldi
Reviewed in the United Kingdom on January 16, 2013
This album was very disappointing compared to "Let The Thunder Cry" and even "Living On The Outside". I cried when I listened to this album. This album came out in 1988 and then there was a big gap in Jim's career until his next album "Living On The Outside" (2001). In between he did many live gigs and co wrote many songs, some with Steve Winwood. "Living On The Outside" I liked but the first album of Jim's I ever heard was "Let The Thinder Cry" (1981) which piqued my interest in his music.
