The first official trailer for Season 2 of Snowpiercer has debuted on TNT's YouTube channel.

The trailer begins with Melanie (Jennifer Connelly) outside in the apocalyptic winter. She soon finds herself about the train of Mr. Wilford (Sean Bean) and has an emotional yet tense reunion with her daughter, Alexandra (Rowan Blanchard). Meanwhile, Andre Layton (Daveed Diggs) prepares to protect Snowpiercer from Wilford's forces.

The trailer also features a deeper look into Wilford's train, Big Alice, which features a private cabin adorned with art. The train also contains a section called the "Alleys," where victims are exposed to the lethal cold. "Apoclypse isn't so bad really," Wilford chortles. "I think we're going to get to know each other very well." The trailer ends with Snowpiercer attempting to slingshot up a mountain, using the full force of both engines.

Snowpiercer is based on both the 2013 film of the same name directed by Bong Joon-ho and the 1982 graphic novel La Transperceneige. It takes place seven years after the world freezes over, with humanity boarding the perpetually moving train known as Snowpiercer. Season 1 ended with Layton being handed control of Snowpiercer in order to set up a democratic government, while Melanie was thrown from the train when Big Alice clamped onto Snowpiercer.

Snowpiercer stars Jennifer Connelly, Daveed Diggs, Sean Bean, Rowan Blanchard,  Alison Wright, Mickey Sumner, Iddo Goldberg, Katie McGuinness, Lena Hall, Annalise Basso, Sam Otto, Roberto Urbina, Sheila Vand, and Steven Ogg. Season 1 is currently available to stream on HBO Max, while Season 2 premieres on Jan. 25, 2021.
