From the Executive Producer of Paranormal Activity and Insidious comes The Unspoken, an eerie thrill ride into the horror that lurks in an unsuspecting small town. The first trailer has arrived below, along with the latest poster. This new horror-thriller will hit theaters and VOD formats on October 28.
In 1997 the close-knit Anderson family vanished from their country home without a trace, without an explanation. No bodies were ever found and for 17 years the house has remained undisturbed...Until now. A sinister tale of haunting and murder, The Unspoken is a refreshing twist on the horror genre just in time for Halloween. This thriller was executive produced by Steven Schneider, one of the producers behind Paranormal Activity, Insidious and The Conjuring franchises, just to name a few.
Directed by Award-winning filmmaker Sheldon Wilson (Kaw, Shallow Ground) and starring Neal McDonough (Suits, Arrow), Jodelle Ferland (Silent Hill), Sunny Suljic, and Matt Bellefleur,...

If you’re at all in touch with your geek side, you already know about all the great horror movies that are Christmas-themed. Chances are you’ve stumbled across Silent Night, Deadly Night, Black Christmas, or Santa’s Slay. Everybody knows Batman Returns and Die Hard take place around December 25th. However, did you know that several disasters have occurred around the most wonderful time of the year?
Anchor Bay Entertainment and the SyFy Channel spent the past few years reminding us that even the holidays aren’t safe from catastrophic events which could bring about the end of the world. Disaster-oriented Christmas movies were becoming an annual tradition up until 2013. The two media giants banned together for three straight years to bring us a trilogy of B-movie entertainment that I think it’s high time they continue.

If you’re going to call your film Snowmageddon, you really need to deliver on the frosty destruction above all else, but instead the made-for-tv Syfy movie gets bogged down in hapless melodrama and a contrived holiday plot that distracts what audiences want to see when they buy a film with this kind of title. Every now and then we get a few minutes of bad CGI terror as killer snowballs fall from the sky and giant spikes (what these have to do with winter or snow is beyond us) jut up from the ground, but they’re scattered throughout a story about a sparsely populated cast that we’re never given a chance to care about. Throwing in a familiar face like Laura Harris (Dead Like Me, 24) doesn’t help either since the disappointment over the weak element of destruction is quite overpowering.

An evil snow globe drums up some killer disasters in the Syfy movie Snowmageddon, blowing its way to Blu-ray and DVD on November 13.
Snowmageddon stars David Cubitt (Medium), Magda Apanowicz (Caprica, Kyle Xy, Hellcats), and Michael Hogan (Battlestar Galactica) as residents of a small idyllic community that must survive snowy disasters brought upon their town by a evil snow globe, and find a way to smash the globe before it wipes out the town and everyone in it.
Anchor Bay is presenting Snowmageddon on Blu-ray in 1.78:1 1080p video and 5.1 Dolby TrueHD audio. There will be no bonus features attached to this good old fashioned B-movie ride.
Unfortunately Snowmageddon on Blu-ray is not yet up for pre-order at Amazon.com.

Director: Sheldon Wilson (Shallow Ground, Mothman).
Cast: Michael Hogan (“Battlestar Galactica”), Magda Apanowicz (“Caprica”), and David Cubitt (“Medium”).
Just when viewers thought they have seen it all, SyFy Channel is going to get experimental with Snowmageddon. This made-for-tv product airs 9/8pm Central tonight.
With such an auspicious title like this one, does that mean that all viewers will see is nothing but death and destruction? Yes and No. There's going to be destruction, but when this title implies a blizzard in the likes that no man wants to experience, that is not going to happen. To see mankind surviving within a snowstorm, or even a sandstorm for that matter, can be interesting if the story is done right.

Not to be confused with “Stormageddon, Dark Lord of All,” Syfy’s Original Movie Snowmageddon premieres this Saturday, as part of Syfy’s “Countdown to Christmas.” Because what says “The Holidays” better than death and destruction via an evil snowglobe?! Syfy is being a little tight-lipped about this one, because the press release is pretty brief. I, however, appreciate their refusal to spoil.
To usher in the holiday season, Syfy will present a snow globe with the power to destroy the world in the Saturday Original Movie Snowmageddon, airing Saturday, December 10 at 9Pm (Et/Pt) during the channel’s second annual Countdown to Christmas Week. Starring Michael Hogan (Battlestar Galactica), David Cubitt (Medium) and Magda Apanowicz (Caprica), the Christmas-themed Snowmageddon is about a mystical snow globe that makes very bad things happen in the real world when it is shaken. The movie is a production of Cinetel.
Hey, that’s a great cast!

I don't know why I'm bothering to write about a supernatural Syfy disaster flick called Snowmageddon about a magical snow globe that when shaken unleashes a wintery apocalypse when the actual apocalypse is a little more than a day away. Do you realize when my life passes before my eyes how many of these Syfy movies I'm going to end up watching again in mega fast forward?
David Cubitt ("Medium"), Michael Hogan ("Battlestar Galactica"), and Magda Apanowicz ("Caprica") star in this Cinetel production from director Sheldon Wilson (Shallow Ground, Mothman) that'll probably make its bow on Syfy sometime this holiday season given the film's plot synopsis. Snowmageddon's plot kind of sounds like the basis for a very special Christmas episode of "Friday the 13th: The Series" that never got made.
