I have attended multiple different schools over the last 12 years. I’ve seen different techniques, requirements, people, and strategies. I started at Snohomish High School freshman year when the whole world was still on lock down due to COVID-19. My freshman year started by sitting in my bed staring a computer for hours, listening to teachers talk, and occasionally falling asleep. Engaging was rough that year. Sophomore year became a little easier, teachers and admin were trying their best to make high school easier on us as we adapted to our computers and doing all of our work online. Meeting new people all while wearing masks, social distancing and more. Junior year was mediocre. I knew all of the same people, but I struggled the most this year. The counselors and my teachers were there to support me through the worst year of my life. I am forever great for that. This year, being my last year in high school, things have become easier. SHS is a great highschool, supportive and FUN!
Snohomish High School is a great school. The best part is the school spirit and culture. This school is one of the best in the state for spirit and it is great to be involved in that. Snohomish is a smaller town so you have a real community feel and you can get to know a lot of people. The teachers are excellent, many of them alumni themselves. The only negative I would say, is since it is a small town it is only a 3A rank for sports and rumors spread fast in small towns, so you have to watch out for that!
Snohomish High School is definitely a place I enjoy to be at. It has a bunch of spirit, and I really love all the spirit activities that we do there. One of two schools in the US that has a serpentine (the whole school walks around the town), that combined with spirit weeks makes the environment really cool. As a student who usually keeps his head down and just gets his stuff done, I haven't had too many negative experiences with teachers and admin. The teachers are usually friendly, but of course you always have the few that are pretty intimidating to talk to. Sports and clubs wise, there's a decent variety. To my knowledge, as far as that stuff goes, we are middle of the pack, nothing fantastic, but apart from the current football team (sorry guys), we can compete.
