About Slice of Life Short Film

The original Slice of Life short film you’re about to watch is an 80s-style short set in the Blade Runner universe. And by 80s-style, we mean it’s made in an old-school way, using only miniatures, matte paintings, rear projections and absolutely NO CGI whatsoever.

Just like your 80s Star Wars and Alien, Slice of Life really showcases the skill and talent of production team Luka Hrgović and Dino Julius.

Slice of Life Plot

A low-life drug dealer in the rainy Blade Runner universe – complete with flying cars, quaint 80s-style future tech and seedy/grungy cityscapes – has a shot at turning his life around by escaping earth to the “island worlds”.

But he’s short on credits for a ticket. And his tech malfunctions when trying to steal some cash, putting him on a cop with his own agenda’s radar.

Now it’s a race to get away from the cop, get the cash and get on that ship.

What People Say About the Slice of Life Short Film

“This was hands down the best short film I have ever watched, especially  considering the limited budget and locations. I think this also goes to prove that miniatures still do have a place in modern filmmaking because visually this looked better than most modern sci-fi movies. I’m genuinely amazed!”
