robert p I hate artsy-fartsy movies just like this. The only way I could get through this slow movie is to fast forward. Now that I've seen it, the only gay part lasted about 3 to 5 minutes (a cheat) to call this movie gay and homosexual. I did not like this movie at all. Rated 2 out of 5 stars 03/31/23 Full Review Audience Member Basically every character makes choices that I just cannot register, which takes me out of The Siren. But it still manages to do a lot with so little. Rated 2.5 out of 5 stars 01/22/23 Full Review katie w Beautiful, sad and tense at the same time. It reminded me of The Shape of Water. Great performances from relative unknowns. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 03/30/23 Full Review Audience Member Fantastic twist on the monster movie. Seductive, moving and original! Matthew Turner Nerdly A strikingly directed and superbly acted creature feature that's simultaneously charming, creepy and achingly sad. Rated: 4/5 Mar 7, 2019 Full Review Kat Hughes THN A well thought-out sombre sophomore feature, The Siren may on the surface be a simplistic tale of love, but it hides a wealth of danger and pathos underneath. A dark fairy-tale love story that will melt your heart. Rated: 4/5 Mar 7, 2019 Full Review Anton Bitel SciFiNow As these lost souls drink in their Otherness, risking everything as they meet halfway on the shoreline of desire, they are enacting the transcendent spirit of romance itself, with all its capacities for passion, self-sacrifice and transformation Mar 7, 2019 Full Review Jennie Kermode Eye for Film Although it doesn't quite succeed in achieving its aims, this film deserves praise both for its ambition and for having the guts to do things differently, finding its own pace and its own voice.
