    Alpaca Experience
I have just done the Alpaca trekking experience at Willow Tree Farm with my Son for Father's Day,what a fantastic afternoon we had! I can't fault the staff, they were all brilliant, polite, friendly and helpful. The guide was very insightful and easy to talk to, so no one was afraid to ask any questions for information on the Alpaca's. The experience itself is well worth the price,it is probably worth more to be fair! For approx £20 you get admission to all the Farm, plus an hour Alpaca experience, plus a Cream Tea included which is open to be changed like we did for a any flavoured Ice Cream Sundae instead of a Cream Scone as the weather was very warm. The Alpaca's are a fantastic experience for any age and very therapeutic as they are very calm to walk with.I highly recommend a day out at Willow Tree Family Farm, Shirebrook. 5 out of 5 Stars.😎👍⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐🪿🦜🐓🦙🐄🐢

    Amazing Alpaca walk Amazing Tony
What an amazing day! We had an alpaca trek, and it was so well organised, we got about an hour walking through the Woodland Trek and around grasslands . What made our day was our guide Tony, who was so knowledgeable and passionate about the alpacas- and he knew all there was! The scones after were delicious too! Thanks Tony and the farm staff- please go and support them!

    Fab experience and lovely staff
We came to the meerkat experience on a rainy Saturday morning. In all honestly I wasn’t excited for it, however once we got there the staff were so friendly and inviting. Especially the lad who gave the meerkat talk. He was so knowledgeable and friendly and was so entertaining. So sorry I don’t remember your name! Thanks so much for a great experience, will definitely visit again to visit other animals.

    Alpaca experience
We had a great time walking the alpacas with Will as our guide. He was very knowledgeable and gave us lots of alpaca facts. The alpacas are easy to handle after some instruction at the beginning and plenty of opportunity for photos. We had a cream tea as part of the package (found on Groupon) and also took advantage of the farm access and went to the reptile and furry friends talk as well as seeing all the various animals like wallaby, reindeer, goats, sheep etc. The only thing I can think that would have been nice is a little explanation of each animal on a board by the enclosure so you can explain better to the children.

    Reptile experiance
We booked as 7 year old grandson is obsessed with lizards. On arrival we were a bit shocked by its location and thought the areas looked a bit run down. All the animals seemed happy and well cared for and loved the attention off the kids, loved a scratch or a stroke. Nice play area and bouncy marshmellow trampalines. Cafe could be run so much better, no menu, so missing a trick as not everyone can use a qr code and download one 2 their phone. We had chips, grandson had nuggets and chips which were all ok. The reptile experiance was taken by a lovely young man called Will, who was very informative and made us all feel safe and showed my grandson how 2 handle and pet the animals, we werent rushed and were given probably 40 minutes instead of 30, he even got my grandson 2 hold some bugs which he is terrified of. He came out asking to return and do it again.

Came today 21062020 brought our tickets online as it’s online one so they can control the numbers of customers witch I think is fantastic at this uncertain time. They have a one way system in place that works great for seeing all the animals
Unfortunately and understandable the furry barn and reptile house is closed as that’s a indoor area and all play areas are closed but kids was still happy. I was so impressed in how the staff work it clear that they all have a passion and love for the animals.. a lovely young chap even stopped and spoke to us about the big tortoise I think he called them sulcata ( I’m not expert ) was so interesting hearing about them what incredible animals they are the same young chap even let us watch the hawks get fed The kids absolutely loved seeing that and the young chap was also very knowledgeable about those also 😃 we will be sure to visit again very soon and look forward to the whole farm being open in the future to enjoy everything on offer thanks so much for a enjoyable day
One last thing the food is lovely it’s a little bit expensive but well worth it food was done lovely and any money made goes back into the farm for all those beautiful animals

Booked a meerkat experience for up to six people - 30 minutes in the pen with them, a lovely talk from their keeper & also able to feed them - excellent value as we were able to spend as long as we liked at the farm seeing all the other residents Lamas, wallabies, reindeer, pigs, donkeys + children's pets.
The bags of animal feed at £3 were great value and had a range of food.
The way round was signposted and it felt very safe, with hand sanitizer stations and large covered areas for picnics etc
Some of the paths could do with maintenance for walking devices, but still saw lots and thoroughly enjoyed it!

Visited for the first time with my 4 year old son and had the best time at the Halloween Spook Farm. Felt very safe with COVID guidance in place, one way systems and plenty of hand sanitizing stations. Extremely knowledgable and helpful staff throughout the farm park, and plenty of activities for the children to do. Lots of animals to see and even had the privilege of seeing a newborn alpaca born just this morning. Extremely good value for money both entrance fee prices and cafe prices, and the children even get to pick a pumpkin for free!!!!! Highly recommend and will definitely be visiting again ! Thank you Willow Tree Family Farm

Just wow! What a wonderful farm this is mainly run by volunteers. We had booked through Wowcher the Alpaca walk which was an hour with an alpaca in a group led by a wonderful and knowledgeable staff member called Tim through the woods and relaxing with the alpacas in clearings in the woods. A superb experience followed by a drink and cream scone served in the cafe by a lovely lady...other meet the animal experiences are on offer..I did the meet the meerkat a couple of years ago which was also fantastic and will be booking again 😁💗

We went to Willow Tree Farm today, which took about 20 minutes from Crystal Peaks. I had booked a meerkat experience via Groupon - it might still be on there, there's alpaca walking as well. I wouldn't have gone if we hadn't booked in advance, as the weather was so bad! But it was so lovely there! Will be returning especially when covid business has calmed down, as they have mini golf, bouncing pillows, park. The animals looked well looked after, and were all friendly. The meerkat handling was lovely, the guy who did it was so helpful and informative and it was really interesting! The meerkats ran all over us, and the babies were super cute. The farm is a charity with a school attached to offer animal care courses for people with autism etc. They said they can't afford publicity, so I thought I would share the farm here as I hadn't heard of it before! Oh and the Groupon inc cream tea, which was the best and biggest scones I've ever had, and kids could have slush and ice cream instead.

Wow! First day opening after lockdown, yet this place can't even fill up their hand sanitiser or empty a bin. I took my 2 year old son here today with a friend thinking it would be a lovely trip out post lockdown...how wrong was I. They obviously over booked as it was absolutely packed!! Half the farm was closed off for an Easter egg hunt, so despite paying full price there wasn't much to see at all. The hand sanitiser was empty and when I ventured to the toilet I couldn't even use the baby changing as the door wouldn't close. The female toilets were disgusting and the bin was over flowing. My friend and I were absolutely apauled by the state of the animals, considering this place hasn't had any visitors for months, fences were broken and some of the animals looked unkempt and uncared for. Come to lunch time and as a heavily pregnant woman with a toddler, the place was so busy there was nowhere to sit and eat, which meant we had to sit on the floor so my son could eat the snacks I had brought for him. I on the other hand could not order food as I couldn't get a table to order from (not ideal when you are 33 weeks pregnant). All in all I would not recommend visiting this place. I certainly won't be returning! What a shame

Good Afternoon thank you for highlighting your views following your visit. All our hand sanitisation points were checked regularly throughout the day (18 points) along with our hot water hand-wash stations (4point) if any of these wasn't operating effectively a member of our team would have assisted in this matter. the site has 43 benches throughout our site (37 located around the cafe and playground) during our busy period all benches around the cafe was in use but we worked to ensure visitors was able to be seated when possible. if pregnant and required a seat if made known to a member of the team we would have sorted this promptly for you. in relation to site being half closed off, to confirm the only the indoor reptile house was closed for animal viewing following governmentguidelines. the woodland area where the event was taking place does not house any animals so all outdoor animals are able to be viewed. toilets, our toilets are checked at times through the day but during busy times 11.30am - 2pm do have much heavier use. If the toilets were below standards please again speak to a member of the team who would have addressed this. Baby change door, I have checked this and noticed it does stick when closing but does lock. we have actioned this to be sorted. As being our first day of re-opening we was at 78% capacity but within our reduced limited rates. in relation to animal welfare standards, we maintain well above the requirements of animals welfare practice. you may have noticed the large volume of new fencing awaiting to be installed in the yard area but this has been delayed due to contractors but is a task we are undertaking. we are saddened to hear your displeasure during your visit. As it was the first day of reopening evidently we are seeing a greater volume of visitors at present. if any of these points were made known on your visit our team would have been able to address the matters raised kind regards

We did the Al Pacca trekking and it was fabulous. Having the opportunity to get up close and walk your very own Al Pacca was such a wonderful experience - Thistle & Bramble (my hubby and I’s Al Pacca’s) were beautiful and so well behaved. Meg was an excellent guide and clearly knew each animal well - matching them to the right people and having them walk with their friends. She explained each Al Pacca’s personality and quirks to each person, making sure they felt comfortable at all times. The farm is small but well maintained and all the animals are clearly loved. The meerkats are soooo cute too!! I would recommend this experience to anyone who enjoys being around animals - 5 stars ⭐️

Lovely little farm with great Halloween decorations. Food was delicious from the cafe and reasonably priced too. Also a mention to Lee on the pumpkins who did a great job of lifting the mood with his riddles on a rainy day and Elana (hope I've spelt your name right) in the witches cabin for telling us about the insects and putting on a great character.

Will definitely visit again ❤️

Happy Halloween to you all🎃

We visited specifically for the the meerkat experience and this did not disappoint. We had the last slot of the day and the lady who gave the talk was so lovely and friendly and really informative, my boys and I managed to feed them lots of worms. I would definitley recommend the meerkat experience.
The cafe was great too and again staff very helpful and friendly and the food was great and not over priced.
It was great to feed the goats and alpacas, although some animals were blocked off due to COVID-19 I think.
I am not sure you could send a full day here but you definitely spend a great 2 to 3 hours here.
Would definitely visit again for the meerkat experience or to do the alpaca walking.

We did a Mercat experience 3 weeks ago, absolutely loved it, 4 adults 2 children, the price includes admission too. We took our 5 , yes 5 grandkids yesterday, we missed the mercat experience as it was full. but still had a fab time, the kids loved it, ages between 8 and 1 1/2 , got talking to the man who looks after the reindeers and got loads of reindeer information, it was brill, they all know there stuff. Prices for ice creams and slushes decent prices, we didn’t use the other food services as we took our own picnic as there are loads of benches to use. Very friendly staff members, def be back very soon. The kids loved the bouncing pillows. 5 very tired children and 2 grandparents who loved it too. Well done everyone at willow farm. X x
