- Cynthia S1 contributionStopped for a tasting on our way to the border. Despite off & on rain, the experience was delightful. The family and the wines were very enjoyable! Highly recommend for a low-key but rewarding visit!Written July 1, 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - FoodangeManchester, UK3,830 contributionsVast pretty lake with good parking all round. The main building was closed, as were the rest rooms for some reason. Great area for walking and picnicking.Written November 23, 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- Mike L1 contributionI found myself in rural Maine two hours from Sherbrooke with my passbook. I had one day on my schedule available, so I decided to spend a few hours in Sherbrooke. I highly recommend starting at the tourist info center on Kings to get the booklet and map and following the route to see the various murals and neighborhoods along the way. Winter might not be the best time for that, though. I will definitely return, when I have more than 5 hours to spend. Sherbrooke seems to be a wonderful place to be.Written October 21, 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - SarahInFLBrooksville, FL20 contributionsBeautiful & peaceful, a great stop along the way. There is a quiet, grassy walk with art work if you have time. Lovely view of mountains & villages.Written September 7, 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- futtock21London, UK16,159 contributionsFor me a walk along the river gorge experiencing the spray from man-made rapids was the highlight of my visit to Sherbrooke, an otherwise rather concrete eastern township marred by excessive construction work.Written July 23, 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Stephen KCorpus Christi, TX2,743 contributionsThis is a nice well-maintained trail along the Mephremagog River. Convenient to park at the Visitor Center, but you will have to use some stairs. You will be able to see the hydro electric plant near the natural history museum. A nice walk, especially for the shade during the summerWritten August 2, 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Professional-PilgrimAlberta, Canada1,352 contributionsI was blown away by all that this museum has to offer! There was a temporary exhibition on circuses that was worth the visit, but the permanent exhibits were all wonderful, especially the interactive one on the geological history of the area, going back 250,000 years and more!Written June 27, 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - futtock21London, UK16,159 contributionsA former bank has been converted into a small art museum in Sherbrooke, a small twin in eastern Quebec which judging by the sheer number of shops displaying prints and ceramics not least the high quality of the displays rather punches above its weight in terms of arts and crafts. The Musee des Beaux Arts is no exception housing a permanent collection of mainly late 20th century works by Quebecois artists some collected in a display called Couleurs Manifestes but also two temporary exhibitions of tapestries by Paulette-Marie Sauve and collages of women by Adele Blair. I was pleased to see a number of works by Rita Letendre, an artist I particularly admire.Written July 23, 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - SpanishteacherMDEllicott City, Maryland2,056 contributionsHave always been interested in seeing this building. Beautiful and yet simple, it's really a treasure. Drove there from our hotel on a Sunday morning early. Nobody was even awake at that point. Parked right in front. Took a walk down the stairs and was able to get some excellent shots. I would say to spend no more than a few minutes here. At times, there are performers that appear in front of City Hall drawing crowds of onlookers. Definitely a must see if in Sherbrooke.Written July 14, 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- Jane NLondon, UK990 contributionsUplands was built in the Georgian style in 1862 and served as a # home to three families over the next 125 years,
We stopped here for an afternoon tea. Being from the UK I have had quite a few afternoon teas and they did this one exceptionally well. The ladies (mainly local volunteers) were lovely. They served you with a smile and when we went to have a look around the house they were very knowledgeable about it too.
We were quite a large group and they opened just for us as it was usually closed on the day we visited.
Definitely a lovely place to stop, here about the history and have a lovely tea.Written May 8, 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Take a quiet walk through the park and greenhouse and see the plant sculptures (a family of frogs) around the pond. The dragon awaits behind the greenhouse where you can also go through the japanese garden. And it's all free!Written August 27, 2018This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- lili_bonjourQuebec City, Canada47 contributionsMy parents always bring visitors to see the murals but it was the first time I happened to be there to tag along. It was good fun. The map is well done, so the murals are easy to find. Doing the circuit (we did the shorter one) makes for a good walk and you get to visit Sherbrooke at the same time. You're never too far from restaurants if you want to take a break.
The murals are very nice. There are also leprechauns and other animals/objects "hidden" in the pictures for children to find. We had a 7 year old with us who had lots of fun, and all the adults got caught up in the game as well. :)Written August 9, 2016This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC.
