Sharon Stone, 61, says she was forced to turn herself into a sex symbol and be deemed 'f**kable' by studio bosses to succeed in Hollywood... as she goes TOPLESS to recreate THAT iconic Basic Instinct scene

It was the movie that solidified her as a bonafide Hollywood star.

And 27 years on, Sharon Stone recreated her famous interrogation pose from the 1992 cult favourite Basic Instinct as she went topless for a sizzling spread for Vogue Portugal

The American actress, 61, claimed in the accompanying interview that early on in her career actresses had to be deemed 'f***able' by studio executives in order to get parts - and she actively tried to become more 'employable' by turning herself into a sex symbol.

Sharon said she did a 'strategically planned' racy Playboy shoot in 1990 to coincide with the release of sci-fi thriller Total Recall, in which she appeared opposite Arnold Schwarzenegger, to change the perception of her as an actress.

The decision worked as it led to her being cast in her most famous role - Basic Instinct.

She told Vogue Portugal: 'When I entered the business the term "f***able" was used to see if you were employable.

'The studio executives sat around a large table and discussed whether or not each of us was in fact "f***able". They thought I was not.

'I gave this some hard thought as I wanted to work, so I did a strategically planned a semi-naked Playboy shoot. Did I fit the part? Obviously not.

'Did I use my brain to figure out how to appear "f***able"? You bet ... But I didn't and I don't [feel like a sex symbol].'

Sharon set pulses racing as she forewent her top while cladding the rest of her figure in a tailored one-piece while lounging on a couch for the magazine's 'Sex Issue.'

Basic Instinct became one of the most talked about movies in 1992 due to its graphic depiction of sex.
