Shirtless Trevor Eve, 64 and bikini-clad wife Sharon Maughan, 65 look like blissful newlyweds on romantic break in Portofino... 35 years after tying the knot

They've been married for 35 years, but Trevor Eve and Sharon Maughan looked like blissful newlyweds on a recent holiday to Portofino, Italy.

The Waking The Dead actor and his stunning wife - who is best known for the Gold Blend coffee adverts - enjoyed a yacht trip during their getaway and were spotted cooling off with a dip in the water.

Sharon, 65, proved that age hasn't diminished the striking looks which captivated the nation in her famous coffee commercial and showed off her slim figure in a pink bikini.

And her 64-year-old husband went shirtless in just a pair of shorts as the couple frolicked in the water.

Sharon and Trevor met when they were both cast in a touring production of Filumena in 1979 and married the following year.

They went on to have three children, sons Jack and George, along with actress Alice but Sharon previously admitted to the Daily Mail that their relationship wasn't always idyllic.

'I've heard so many stories about Trevor and myself – about other women, things he's meant to have said,' she said. 'But you stop listening in the end. And, if anything rings vaguely true, you just deal with it. You can't listen to s**t – it drives you insane – but nor should you tolerate s**t. I don't believe that any woman should.

'I can categorically say we've never had an open marriage. Some people in our profession do and we don't. I don't know a woman alive who would happily accept that. Cheating's horrible and the suggestion of it is horrible. Trevor's my best friend and there's never been a time we haven't spoken to one another every day or taken care of one another.'

While, Sharon did admit that she had been tempted to leave the marriage, she insisted the couple had worked through any problems they may have had in the past.

'But there have definitely been periods when we haven't got on so well. We've been married more than 30 years. Of course I've been tempted to leave my relationship.' she admitted. 'I'm only human. Nobody could be married for that long and not hate their partner at some point, or want to jump on the nearest bus and get as far away from them as possible or kick them out.

The couple's daughter Alice, 33, went on to follow in their footsteps, starring in a number of Hollywood movies including Men In Black 3, Star Trek Into Darkness and She's Out Of My League and Sharon having a beautiful daughter hasn't always been easy.

She said: 'When children grow up, they can make you feel invisible if you're not careful. I had therapy about that. The therapist brought up how I was feeling having a beautiful daughter who was also an actress. She made me address what I didn't want to. You have to work out what your value is within yourself and professionally. It's hard, but I believe in addressing things.'

However, the couple didn't appear to have a care in the world as they kicked back on the relaxing break, diving off the boat and hanging off a bar suspended over the water.
