Shubhra Gupta The Indian Express For a film that ostensibly sets out to speak against the ills of dowry, Shaadi Mein Zaroor Aana is surprisingly, and dangerously muted. Rated: 1.5/5 Jun 27, 2019 Full Review Namrata Joshi The Hindu Rajkummar Rao is earnest and tries to give his best to a film that doesn't deserve it. Nov 14, 2017 Full Review Saibal Chatterjee NDTV Such a terribly confused take... it is difficult to tell which side of the gender and ethical divide the film is really on. Rated: 1.5/5 Jul 22, 2020 Full Review Rahul Desai Film Companion Ironically, the only time I felt like being a part of this wedding was when it wasn't happening. By the time they turn into accomplished adults, the movie begins its own conscious uncoupling... Rated: 1.5/5 Feb 28, 2019 Full Review Shilpa Jamkhandikar Reuters Rajkummar Rao tries his best to salvage the situation, humanising Satyendar for the most part; but even he cannot pull off the truly farcical parts of this film. Nov 10, 2017 Full Review Rachit Gupta Filmfare When SMZA talks about the dowry system the inequality towards women in civil services and general working opportunities, it feels like a mature and relevant story. But the treatment is so lackluster that it relegates the movie to Indian soap opera status Rated: 2.5/5 Nov 10, 2017 Full Review Read all reviews

Google U Love the movie! Coherence with UPSC Aspirants of TVF. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 12/20/23 Full Review Audience Member One of the best movies I've seen. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 01/23/23 Full Review Audience Member Beautiful movie .............. I love it ❤️ Rated 5 out of 5 stars 01/21/23 Full Review Audience Member I think this movie one of those movies that make a lasting impact on the minds of the viewers. The best part about this entire movie is that it beautifully captures the ups and downs of a middle class Indian couple while also sending a strong message that marriages should not shackle the dreams and aspirations of the bride in these modern times. I, for one, loved the movie. Acting wise, everyone did a fabulous job. Rajkumar Rao was classy as usual. He was supposed to portray two different kinds of roles in this movie. Before the interval, he was supposed to play a shy and meek young man who was madly in love. Whereas, post interval, he had to become this up tight and sarcastic Govt. officer who had to avenge the humiliation which he was forced to face. Needless to say, he played both the roles to perfection. Kriti Kharbanda arguably gave her best performance in this movie until now and that's saying a lot considering the fact that I'm writing this review in 2020. It was quite heart warming to see her as this strong yet vulnerable girl who just wanted to establish a balance between being a wife and pursuing her personal aspirations. Rajkumar and Kriti as a couple are a must watch. Their chemistry is actually quite endearing. Its a perfect mix of everything. Love, happiness, excitement, jealousy, complications, confusion, heartbreak and what not. Their love story is something that most of the Indians of this generation can relate to. That's what make it even more special. Lastly, I came across a few reviews where people called this movie senseless because no one becomes an IAS officer just to grill his or her ex in reality. To all those people I just want to say that, please don't try to find sense and logic in everything. There is a reason why this movie is categorized as a work of fiction. So, yeah, definitely a must watch. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 02/14/23 Full Review Audience Member must watch, very interesting movie, mesmerizing Rated 4 out of 5 stars 01/23/23 Full Review Audience Member Great film, but it requires more than one watch to get all the layers in this. Wonderful acting from all the cast and honestly has such repeat watch value. The ending should have been different after everything Sattu did, i felt he couldn't be redeemed.
