    We loved this temple.
I’ve read lots of reviews saying the lines to buy your mineki neko and Japanese ema were long, but we visited during the week around 8:30a and there was no line.

Took about an hour from Asakusa station. Odakyu Odawara Line Local-You get off at Gotoku-ji OH 10. Then there is a 10 min walk through quaint neighborhood to reach the temple. Worth the trip for a more serene look of outer Tokyo.

I am taking a class called Metropolitan Tokyo and we learn about a rural town in the middle of Arkansas!! I think a lot of students in the class complained and said they were given false advertising!! I am obviously being extra as I do a lot in my reviews and we learn about areas of Tokyo!! We had to go here for a project and look at different parts and I had to look for greenery!! I have to do a group presentation which is actually my least favorite thing to do in life but I enjoyed coming here and doing the research!! I went for some pho and then walked around and saw a lot of plants and shrubs and trees!! I also got a waffle fish which was very good!!

The path is partly closed due to a tree fall. I still had a decent time seeing what I could see, and getting a treat at the supermarket.

On a less hot day, you could go to the riverside park.

There is a cute looking shop close to the station.

It's a large park with playground equipment facilities, sports facilities, and grassy plazas that mainly serves as a recreational area for Setagaya Ward residents. The nearest station is Yoga Station, but even from Yoga Station it takes about 15 minutes on foot, so most park visitors come by car.
With the exception of the grass plaza and sports facilities, much of the park is covered with trees, making it relatively cool even in summer. The park is just right for spreading out a small tent or leisure sheet, taking a nap, playing ball, or spending a moment to your heart's content.
There are also jogging and cycling paths, but the dedicated paths are narrow and not suitable for running side by side with friends or parents and children. In addition, as mentioned above, the path is covered with trees, and visibility is somewhat poor in some parts. You'll occasionally see children separated from their families while cycling. It's best to ride at a slower speed and to be considerate of each other.

We attended a concert in May and were amazed at the talent of the stringraphy ensemble and the dynamic depth of their unique instrument. The studio is small but personable. Wonderful experience for artists, musicians, or just lovers of music. We had a mini workshop at the end of the concert and were given a memento to take home. Getting to the studio by train was fairly easy but there is not much else around.

Nice, peaceful place to relax and escape the high humidity. Lovely Buddhist statues and temple buildings. The highlight is the pond with crane like Lilly flowers. Absolutely adorable!!

Large park with lots of walkways and areas to exercise, stroll, run, bike ride, or enjoy being outdoors! Easy to get to via Metro. Track area may be open and available to visit inside. Outside shop sells ice cream.

I didn’t know about the Carrot tower until last week but was really pleased to go up to the 26th floor and experience the view......for free....other high rise buildings charge a fee so this was a bonus. Looks like there is a coffee shop and a resteraunt but just to be able to go up and sit and relax is great. I popped up the week to have some quiet time and read a book whilst waiting for my kids to finish school nearby.
Definatley worth a quick trip to see the view. Could see Mount Fuji I suspect on a clear day!

This redevelopment is great in its effort to create an urban space that attempts to strike a balance between commercial al space and the greenery, there are stairs and paths - great area to go on strolls. Very pleasant, but as far as shops and restaurants they all seem rather anemic in character and lacks authentic soul.

This small private museum has only two viewing galleries and features a collection of hand lettered scrolls from the famous text: Tale of Genji. There are also original and restored illustrations that accompany the scrolls. Some of the scrolls date back to the 1200's while others are from the 17 and 1800's. A few ceramic items are shown as well.
Information is provided in English at a minimum so do a little research before you visit in order to more fully appreciate what you will see.
The spectacular draw here is the garden. The meticulously landscaped grounds behind the museum are an incredible oasis of calm in the midst of the city. There were about 25 people touring the garden when we were there and we rarely ran into more than two or three at a time. A map is provided and you can walk through the garden at your leisure admiring the various ponds, small pagoda statues as well as a collection of small deities. Azalea season has just ended but there will be other blooms to admire. On a hot summer day this is just the place to enjoy the cool refreshing retreat from the hustle and bustle.
