What travelers are saying
- Valerie GNorth Port, FL221 contributionsVery unique fort to explore! Kids absolutely loved it and thought it was a fun adventure. We happened to be there on reenactment day and everyone was so friendly. A must do for anyone vacationing on Amelia Island.Written April 10, 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - KMW-FLPort Saint Lucie, FL654 contributionsMy husband and I are always interested in the history of the towns/cities that we travel to, so we seek out museums that will tell of those stories. The Museum is packed with history and information about Amelia Island. You can take a self-guided tour or take advantage of a guided tour as well. It is housed in the historic Nassau County Jail and "showcases the island's 4,000 years of Florida history." - Margaret Somerv... MChvg Chass MD, USA2 contributionsThis walk is a hidden gem with enough path space for walkers and bicyclists. Many of the nature activities happen in the morning- so grab a cup of coffee and head for Eagans Creek.Written March 29, 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Mark IBrunswick, GA41 contributionsParking is easy and free. Great location with restaurants nearby. Nice beach with shells and good sand. Downside is the restrooms are terrible and sometimes to the point of unusable.Written December 10, 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - pauladc2015Yemassee, SC63 contributionsBeach allows driving, but sun bathers are not bothered with sandboggers. Designated areas. Lots of clean sand. No megateeth found but tiny to small shark's teeth are there. Just before sunrise starting in May, you will likely see official volunteers on turtle patrol. This beach has several boardwalks leading from parking lot ending in very soft shifting sand. There are outside showers and a bathhouse. I saw horses being readied for beach riding around 5 pm when the sun was getting low. Gopher tortoises live in the protected dunes.Written May 5, 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- Valerie GNorth Port, FL221 contributionsThis was the most amazing hidden gem we found on our vacation. Kids absolutely loved it! A really incredible deal and we were shocked that you only pay 1 price for admission. Our family of 5 were the only people in there for the hour we spent. The man was so nice despite me and my husband juggling 3 very young kids that have never played pinball and were most likely quite annoying to the older gentleman. We felt welcomed and really enjoyed the quality of these pinball machines. They're clearly well cared for. Such a great stop for couples or families that are visiting Amelia Island. One of our favorite experiences from our vacation. Get there early to be the only ones in the building!Written April 10, 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC.
