Serge Aurier has best PL record v Arsenal of all Nottingham Forest players

Nottingham Forest visit Arsenal this Sunday, so what is every Reds player’s record against the Gunners? Serge Aurier has registered the best win rate in the Premier League thus far.

This weekend’s opponents have only met four times since the City Ground outfit endured relegation from the top-flight in 1999. They did not meet again before an EFL Cup clash in 2016 which Arsenal won. Nottingham Forest won FA Cup ties in 2018 and earlier this year.

Arsenal also triumphed in an EFL Cup tie in 2019 during Nottingham Forest’s only previous visit to Emirates Stadium. The Reds travel to north London on Sunday on the back of a 1-0 win over Liverpool last week. But Steve Cooper’s side remained at the bottom of the table.

Mikel Arteta’s team, on the other hand, began the weekend atop the table. Arsenal held a two-point advantage over Manchester City through 11 games after nine wins. Nottingham Forest, meanwhile, sat last through 12 games having taken just two wins to seven defeats.

Both of Nottingham Forest’s wins so far this season have come at the City Ground. Cooper is yet to oversee a Premier League win on the road after two draws to four defeats. Arteta has coached five wins from five games at Emirates Stadium this term with 14 goals scored.

So, ahead of Nottingham Forest travelling to Arsenal on Sunday, HITC Football has taken a look at the records against the Gunners of every Reds player Cooper has so far used in any competition this season. Aurier has registered the best win rate in the top-flight to date.

Serge Aurier: Nottingham Forest ace has a two-in-three record vs Arsenal

Aurier has the strongest Premier League record against Arsenal of any Nottingham Forest player. The Ivorian helped Tottenham Hotspur beat the Gunners twice across three north London derbies. He also helped PSG secure a 1-1 draw in the Champions League in 2016.

Willy Boly: Former Wolves star boasts a three-in-five record against the Gunners

Nottingham Forest defender Willy Boly registered a three-in-five record against Arsenal at Wolves. The 31-year-old also helped to a win at Emirates Stadium with a 2-1 result in 2020. Additionally, he held the Gunners to a 1-1 draw in north London on his first visit in 2018.

Dean Henderson: Sheffield United goalkeeper has a one-in-two record vs Arsenal

Dean Henderson has played Arsenal on three previous occasions with two Premier League games on the Nottingham Forest goalkeeper’s record. The 25-year-old won 1-0 at home to the Gunners while he was on loan to Sheffield United from Manchester United in 2019/20.

The one-cap England ace drew 1-1 in his only previous appearance at Emirates Stadium in 2020. Henderson was an unused substitute in four fixtures against Arsenal after returning to Old Trafford from Bramall Lane. So, he has a 50% win rate in the Premier League so far.

Jesse Lingard: Nottingham Forest midfielder has a four-in-10 record vs Arsenal

Jesse Lingard has won four of his 10 previous Premier League meetings with Arsenal, along with three draws. The 29-year-old has only lost three top-flight fixtures to the Gunners. He has also hit four and created two goals. His last goal and assist came on loan to West Ham.

Morgan Gibbs-White: Nottingham Forest ace has a one-in-three record vs Arsenal

Morgan Gibbs-White has a 33% win rate against Arsenal with the Nottingham Forest star winning one in three previous Premier League meetings. The 22-year-old never faced the Gunners outside of the top-flight whilst at Wolves. Yet he only played just seven minutes.

Cheikhou Kouyate: Senegal star has a three-in-14 record against Arsenal

Cheikhou Kouyate has registered a three-in-14 record in Premier League matches against Arsenal so far. The 32-year-old Senegal star won one of six appearances at West Ham and two of eight for Crystal Palace. He hit a 21.5% win rate with a 3-0 win in his last meeting.

Steve Cook: Nottingham Forest defender has a one-in-nine record vs Arsenal

Nottingham Forest defender Steve Cook has recorded a one-in-nine record against Arsenal in the Premier League. The 31-year-old played 90 minutes as AFC Bournemouth won 2-1 at home in 2018. He drew two of his other meetings, including three as the Cherries’ captain.
