[F4M] Sense and Sensibility, Historic Slow Burn ROmance

Discord

I have recently watched the movie and am as of now currently reading the original book with the same title. I absolutely fell in love with the Love Story between Colonel Brandon and Marianne Dashwood. And I kind of wish to write more of that happening, how the romance between them blossoms and so on.

The confines of the story play around the 1790s - 1800s so obviously it's not a modern setting. Courting, proper ettiquette and so on will be important. It does not have to be perfect but I would like to keep it realistic and historic in a way.

As for the characters we have:

Colonel Brandon – a close friend of Sir John Middleton. He is 35 years old at the beginning of the book. He falls in love with Marianne at first sight, as she reminds him of his father's ward, Eliza, whom he loved when he was young. He was prevented from marrying Eliza because his father was determined that she should marry Brandon's older brother. Brandon was sent into the military abroad to be away from her, and while he was gone, Eliza suffered numerous misfortunes, partly as a consequence of her unhappy marriage. She finally died penniless and disgraced, and with a "natural" (i.e., extramarital) daughter, also named Eliza, who becomes the ward of the Colonel. He is a very honourable friend to the Dashwoods, particularly Elinor, and offers Edward Ferrars a living after Edward is disowned by his mother.

Marianne Dashwood – the romantically inclined and eagerly expressive second daughter of Mr and Mrs Henry Dashwood. Her emotional excesses identify her as the "sensibility" of the book's title, although again, not exclusively (at the time, "sensibility" meant driven primarily by one's emotions). She is the object of the attentions of Colonel Brandon and Mr Willoughby. She is attracted to young, handsome, romantically spirited Willoughby and does not think much of the older, more reserved Colonel Brandon. Marianne undergoes the most development within the book, learning that her indulgence in sensibility has been selfish. She decides that her conduct should be more like that of her elder sister, Elinor.

I will be taking the role of Marianne in this case, as for my partner whomsoever it may be will be Colonel Brandon. If you have questions regarding either you can ask me in the DM most you need to know can be derived from either the movie with Alan Rickmans wonderful portrayal or the books.

Important to note I am looking for a semi literate partner. The main theme is the budding romance after certain events in the book. Mainly Marianne having her heart broken by Willoughby, her recovery after her fever toward her affections for Colonel Brandon growing. I want someone above the age of 18, ideally someone over 20, I am 30 years old myself. Life can be hectic but a response every few days would be what I aim to do. The longer your response may be the longer it may take. If you made it this far I assume some care which I approve, you may show me that dedication by telling me who your favourite Actor is. No matter the genre I would like to know. :)

My Writing Sample:

Amaurot. The city was looking as grand as it sounded. Tall spires reaching ever higher into the sky. Skyscrapers climbed along them on a scale that was overwhelming to the young woman.

Her black robes were just a tad too large, she had been nervous when she had created them. Unable to fix the small problem as she now stood amidst students shuffling inside. Her first day at the akademia, she knew no one here. She was nervous to say the least, scared and worried that here too, none would like her.

"In case you weren't sure…" a friendly voice rang out next to her. As she turned she spotted a young man with the same robes as here, fitting him much better. The white mask sat safely over his face. He had lavender hair and a friendly face by all she could see. "...the lectures will be held inside. Your first year is it, you come a few weeks later than me and my friend."

She blinks behind her mask, her timid voice ringing out softly. "My family recently moved here… it's my very first day. I am. Persephone." she held out her hand towards him.

"My pleasure, Persephone. My name is Hythlodaeus. I bid you welcome in Amaurot, our beautiful city. Come let me guide you to the first class. First years all share the same classes and fortunately you can sit between me and my friend." He took her hand stringing her along with himself.

The young woman was far too shy to protest, unable to pull away even though she was worried. Worried that she'd be made fun of by him, but he didn't seem phased if he noticed how uncomfortable she seemed.

He dragged her to a classroom up a few rows in the back. No one seemed to take note of her her except one lonesome student he was staring at her. Incidentally he seemed to be the friend Hythlodaeus had spoken about. She could see a bit of white hair hanging out of the cowl and his lips were pressed to a thin line.
