- ADELINE K2 contributionsWe booked a day trip with Lemon Holiday for island hopping at Tun Sakaran Marine Park in June 2022. As our Air Asia flight had rescheduled, we only managed to visit 2 island : Bohey Dulang and Sipuan islands.
Bohey Dulang is also known as "Pearl Island" as it was a pearl cultivation centre previously. Hiking at Bohey Dulang was exhausting but not very difficult. There were 2 separate trekking paths -- 700m heading up to the viewpoint with 265m height and 600m heading down to the jetty. The tallest peak at the other side of the hill is 353m height but it's not open for hiking. It took about 40 minutes for us to reach the view point with stunning view of the lagoon and nearby islands. It's a "must visit" place in Semporna as you will be mesmerize by the amazing view upon reaching the peak.
Remember to wear proper hiking shoes as some places are quite slippery. Also need to bring water for the hike as there is no canteen/stall selling water at Bohey Dulang.

The problem is: no one is taking action on preserving the environment. There is trash EVERYWHERE even in the “paradises” that are advertised. Plastic plastic plastic. And the corals: dead. It is dramatic and a solution is urgent.
Also at the city itself there is misery all around. Terribly dirty streets, dozens of hungry stray dogs and the worse: beggars. Mainly children who don’t own an identity, or go to school. To save your budget better go in grouping more cheaper. It will takes around 30 minutes to reach there. If possible come early because the place will close at 5 pm. So you can have more time to enjoy the stunning view if you come early.
Suitable for nature lovers and hikers. Mind your step and climb slowly. Do not rushing just enjoy the breeze and amazing view surrounding you. Don't forget to witness the sunset and take photo or selfie for your remembrance. Get down before the sun go down and dark for your safety purpose. Wear a suitable shoes for your convenience.

We spent around 3 hours (from 5pm till 8pm) for sunset view, stargazing and dinner (prior arrangement). You can see the town of Semporna and the Islands (Bohey Dulang and Bodgaya) from the hill. They are very accommodative and passionate on providing the best experience to us. Will visit here again! It was so lucky to meet with Ken and his team. We were there for four days including two days in Sipadan.
Ken was reliable and eager to arrange itinerary with our expect. His team was experienced and provide sufficient support along way.
Strongly recommend to everyone who visit Semporna and Sipadan.

Life at TRACC never ceases to cast its spell - once again we saw the new coral growth and the abundance and increased diversity of life on the artificial reefs we have helped create. We made and maintained new structures, planted more coral, conducted fish and turtle surveys, joined turtle walks at night to identify turtle nests, attended lectures and watched turtle hatchlings being released into the ocean. And once again we met an amazing group of like minded people, aged from 19 to us at 69, both staff and volunteers from all over the world come together to teach, to learn and to make new friends and new coral reefs.
