Two thirds of students volunteer, some in the Children’s Literacy Project, which places tutors in Seattle schools. Students can also get involved in clubs, intramural sports, or intercollegiate athletics. There are more than 15 NCAA Division I Seattle Redhawks teams, which play in various conferences. Notable alumni include Jim Whittaker, who was the first American to reach the summit of Mount Everest.
